I have not been here in a while. It’s not that we are not “free” to do it, it’s that it is pointless. You can ask 100 women out, maybe 1-5 of those will be open to serious dating or marriage with a woman. Then comes whether they personally find you attractive and dates go well. Your suggestion is great for bi and straight looking for men and maybe casual encounters with women. It does not help lesbians

[–]peaked2020 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

If someone vastly more attractive than you wants to date, there’s a good chance there’s a reason why they’re doing that. Most hot people pair with other hot people... the reason the “hot but crazy” stereotype exists is that the ones who are hot, but too crazy for the other hot people, go for people lower down... the average ones who will put up with it because of looks.

You took a girl that is addicted to more than one hard drug, recently moved to a place where she knows no one to escape people (bad sign... sign that she is drama and undtable), told you inappropriately personal stuff immediately (bad sign), suffering from multiple traumas, never been with a woman without alcohol (another sign that this is not going to work), and told yourself you were in love because she was hot, listened to you, and good in bed when you were lonely. The red flags are everywhere and probably would’ve only worsened with time. At least she had the sense to try to work on herself first

Anti-Master Doc document circulating on social media, comphet-supporting "lesbians" are losing their minds by [deleted] in Lesbians

[–]peaked2020 25 insightful - 1 fun25 insightful - 0 fun26 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I agree that the master doc is silly and am happy to see pushback on it finally... and it’s woke so I’m glad that they can’t immediately say TERF...

But this author... don’t like her either. She keeps saying lesbians can like men basically and that our definition needs to be clarified. As if people don’t understand what the word lesbian means she even says “bi dykes” are valid... over snd over she makes this point that lesbians should not have to not be attracted to men.

Then she says some things are TERF that are not. For example she says seeing feminine men as women is TERF. But TERFs say all men, no matter how feminine are just men and even trans women are just men...

If you hate everything about men and have never been attracted to a real one... if you hate gay sex... if you’re incapable of loving a man... then I doubt you are gay . Or maybe you just need a guy who is nicer and more respectful.

[–]peaked2020 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes they do... they were a big reason for some things about trans education in schools getting overturned recently. Again in the UK especially their groups are pretty influential and write to politicians. They also tend to spread awareness of predatory situations such as Jessica Yaniv among others... often they are the ones who find these people and lead to news stations picking up the story. Then public opinion changes.

Plus you have to keep in mind that they are a small, widely hated group with a lot of opposition, it’s hard to advocate in that situation. The opposition is much bigger, supported by a lot of funding and companies. Does not have to be anonymous... So many people are afraid to associate their face with anti-trans things because they can lose their job for example... I will be staying anonymous for that reason though I am not a radfem. Also there is nothing wrong with an online protest, especially when you are trying to change policies pushed by organizations with more money and power than you your best chance is to reach the people... and again especially when many would be hesitant to publicly identify as radfem due to hate, violence, job loss, character attacks.

Im not an expert on LGB alliance itself, but whether or not LGB alliance specifically is good doesn’t change that we need an organization that advocates for LGB separately. And they need visibility from funding so people know that LGB does not necessarily mean TQ... most people don’t

This isn’t true... radfems do a lot of activism and political protesting. Especially in the UK. They are outnumbered but they often get involved in govt and talk to officials about issues. However just because they try doesn’t mean they’ll be successful especially when they’re opposed by very highly funded orgs... but they do try. Also yes visibility of an LGB alliance is important, funding the org itself is also important.

Because there’s a difference between a surgery that aims to produce a different sexual organ and a cosmetic surgery that’s just supposed to make the person more attractive. That doesn’t go away simply because it’s not the same as a born organ.

Having a certain brow ridge or lip shape is something that happens to born women too and they don’t be t surgery. There is a difference between a trans woman wanting a nose job and a trans woman wanting to have their dick removed. Acting like these are exactly the same is absurd.

This is where radfems lose a lot of people, being so anti-trans that they take a reasonable argument and shift it to the unreasonable.

funding sex changes and maybe adam's apple removal is understandable but breast implants and facial surgery is ridiculous. women with say, wider jaws, don't get free surgery to change that regardless of how it affects their mental health. saying trans women should get that done for free implies that these features are only for men, not women, except born women who get them need to shut up while trans women dont...

I think “truscum” are not as reasonable as they try to pretend they are......

Like you say they say “gender dysphoria” is a condition of being trans. Here were the gender dysphoria conditions from the Mayo Clinic: “at least two of the following:

  • A marked incongruence between one’s experienced/expressed gender and primary and/or secondary sex characteristics

  • A strong desire to be rid of one’s primary and/or secondary sex characteristics

  • A strong desire for the primary and/or secondary sex characteristics of the other gender

  • A strong desire to be of the other gender

  • A strong desire to be treated as the other gender

  • A strong conviction that one has the typical feelings and reactions of the other gender

In children, gender dysphoria diagnosis involves at least six of the following :

  • A strong desire to be of the other gender or an insistence that one is the other gender

  • A strong preference for wearing clothes typical of the opposite gender

  • A strong preference for cross-gender roles in make-believe play or fantasy play

  • A strong preference for the toys, games or activities stereotypically used or engaged in by the other gender

  • A strong preference for playmates of the other gender

  • A strong rejection of toys, games and activities typical of one’s assigned gender

  • A strong dislike of one’s sexual anatomy

  • A strong desire for the physical sex characteristics that match one’s experienced gender”

The only way to really believe in this is if you’re really sexist and think that playing with dolls is only for girls. To put it into law you would have to say women must dress feminine otherwise it wouldn’t be fair because “cis” women can be tomboys but trans women can’t.

Tucutes are just trying to apply gender equality to trans. Which is hard because trans requires lack of gender equality...

We should ask these people is why they wouldn’t just buy it. If they felt some compulsion for the opposite sex underwear, especially as an adult, they can find them for the price of a soft drink. They make the choice to wear the ones that belong to other women instead, stealing them, sometimes masturbating into the panties. Not even normal clothing but underwear. It has to be a fetish. You don’t see FTM behaving in such a disgusting way most of the time.

The true irony is that both sides of this debate are dominated by upper middle class white people. Most of the non-binary and trans people I know are white. You could argue that relatively wealthy white feminists allowing trans women by self ID into women’s prison are doing “white feminism” because they will not know the fear of letting any man who asks for it into a women’s prison... most of the fear will come to women who are more disadvantaged such as poor women, disabled, racial minorities. But only when they disagree does it become “white feminism”

She wrote an essay about how she thought vaginas were disgusting for years and was asked by another woman who slept with her if she was even liked to women at all. She calls them gross and says they have “nasty liquid” that she would force herself to eat out for her girlfriend. She had to learn to like them after months of forcing it with her girlfriend... then she marveled at how she finally didn’t feel like she wanted a man watching them or had any desire for a boyfriend. Then concludes it saying she still has some desire for men and May sleep with them sometimes. That too after sleeping with multiple men in the past because of “society”... It isn’t people being combative, she is not gay and I frankly find it disturbing that she forced herself to learn to like a sex organ.

This sounds incredibly bisexual... and as others said way TMI. No wonder you are so confused and feeling the need to write so many paragraphs. Its not the fact that you are not a “gold star”, it’s the way you describe things, what you focus on, the way your attraction goes. There is nothing wrong with being bisexual and having your attractions to both sexes fluctuate over time.

...How dare they spread that this coercion is just in the minds of “TERFs” and not real. Almost all of these comments are encouraging her to have sex with this person despite being repulsed by their body... Many of the comments also reference their relationships where their partner was repulsed by them, afraid of their penis, totally uninterested... and they persisted until the woman relented, calling her a bigot until the day.

It’s disgusting... I’m afraid for younger lesbians.

When did it become normal for people to have sex with people whose bodies they cannot even stand to look at, are afraid of... why would anyone encourage this, trans or not? To be told to just “not touch it” and continue having relations with the person? The consistent language in the post as well, framing the mere thought of someone who will not accept a penis as exclusionary and hateful.... It’s not rape, but... it’s somewhere in that area of a sort of non-consent.

I guess I should count my luck for sleeping with people who I actually enjoyed touching... I can’t imagine asking someone to have sex with me and simply “not look at” my vagina. This has nothing to do with being trans. This behavior would be filthy from anyone.

If they’re unaware, sure... teenagers especially can be pressured when they don’t know who they are and don’t understand their sexual feelings, or worry about their parents reactions. These types of people will not even themselves realize they are lesbians or will maybe know but try to get rid of it, hiding it or attending conversion therapy. It is very different when someone is an out and proud “lesbian” and sleeps with men, then whisking it away with some excuse about how society made them have sex with the men in their office, and fluidity made them get a boyfriend... which we see very often in the LGBT community.

Yes, I noticed by your comment below that you seem to have not understood the original post. The entire question this writer is bringing is about how fluid lesbians can be, raising a debate about whether women who like men, but prefer women, are lesbians. That is the person’s entire point in posting.

The context of the post is debating whether women who only want to marry women, but still enjoy men, are lesbians... as well as whether lesbians can be “sexually fluid”. Whether lesbians can sleep with men for “shits and gigs”. They are not. Lesbians don’t like men. That’s the relation... that is what the post is about.

What a ridiculous question...

Almost no one really thinks that everyone must be “gold star”... from what I have seen, people generally twist this into “gold star gatekeeping” when what is really being discouraged is bisexual women pretending to be lesbians. Everyone knows that there is a difference between say, a woman from a poor community in India marrying a man to phrase her parents and a woman in NYC sleeping with boys for her enjoyment. Or god forbid, a rape... almost no one thinks these things mean that you are attracted to men. This is purposely twisted and made to be “so confusing” by women who are intentionally misusing the lesbian label and trying to claim that it is too unreasonable of a concept to not be interested in men. That fluidity is necessary because how could anyone not want a man? They think this way because they are bisexual, and homophobic at that...

Being a bisexual woman who wants to marry a man does not make you straight. Being a bisexual woman who wants to marry a woman does not make you a lesbian. Particularly if you are sleeping with men as well, dating them, if you are attracted to men... you will never in your life know what it is like to be a gay woman. This “sleeping with men for shits and gigs” you talk about is called bisexuality or heterosexuality. If they are enjoying men they are not lesbians.

And they know this as well. This is not about them being confused, this is about them seeking to use the lesbian label under false pretenses. If you could not spread that narrative here under the idea that being a lesbian is so complicated and confusing, and oh sexuality fluidity this and that, when it truly is not... that would be great. This bizarre line of thinking has led to us being flooded with bi lesbians and other nonsense.

That happens with everything... a lot of girls also don’t think they are gay and think they just don’t want a marriage. Or that they just don’t want children... or that they just think kissing isn’t so interesting. Or that they simply prefer to focus on school... or that nobody is good enough for them... or that they are too busy... the mind will find many ways to not understand that it’s different from others, going under the normal society’s rules.

None of this means that we need to include all of these communities in LGB.

Not directed towards you... but I can’t imagine a dick that won’t be touched being a selling point. If you enjoy penises you will probably want to touch it. If you don’t you will want to touch a vagina or maybe just have no sex at all , not just avoid touching the other person’s genitals. What sort of sex is that?

Lol it didn’t occur to me to connect this topic to those people... it really is ridiculous that we’ve gotten to the point that these women will legitimately claim to be lesbians who like men. I feel like we need a “straight man who likes to sleep with men. all straight men can meet their perfect boy. sexuality is fluid!” to show the absurdity to others.

Unfortunately I have met a few... they thrive in college. Normally they cool down after some time in the real world... but sadly, that normally comes with a husband on the way. They will often claim that they used to be lesbians but are now bisexual.

Agreed on all fronts...

However, I have some sad news... I think much of the reasons or this is that for many women, lesbian IS an “identity” and not a sexuality.

So for political or social reasons, they will take on this “lesbian identity”, and they truly believe that they are lesbians regardless of their true attractions because they know others like them... who can then, as a group, represent LESBIANS.

So when someone meets a radical feminist who preaches the gospel of lesbianism, who believes it with all her heart... but enjoys men.

So when someone meets a trans activist who proudly wears the lesbian flag... but enjoys men.

So when a man sleeps with a woman who swears to him that she is a real true lesbian, and that he is just so sexy that even lesbians will want him...

Of course they will see it as a political identity. Those women represent it as such.

All of these will be VERY offended if you suggest that they are anything but lesbian.

Some of this also is just the general LGBT plague... but these women really do shoulder a large amount of the blame. As lesbians have become more accepted as well as more sexualized, they only grow in number. When they are large in number, other women seeking a political identity see them as an example... and also declare their lesbianism. So the problem compounds.

So sick of these straight/bi women suddenly realizing they are lesbians conveniently after their male partner decides he's a woman... by [deleted] in LGBDropTheT

Not sure if I buy that they’re malicious as much as maybe stupid... or maybe childish?

I picture a kid running through a department store. Then they find the LGBT aisle. All the marketing says that it’s such a cool and unique club. They want a ticket into the club. They want a ticket into every club that makes them socially aware and special. They want to belong, like teenagers do.

Maybe our marketing team needs to tone it down a bit... show pictures of us eating Indian takeout on the bed on a Saturday night. Haha

I feel pity for these people...

It looks like, on some level, they recognize that the concept of being “gay” is being erased... for that matter, the concept of being STRAIGHT is also being erased...

But their ideology conflicts with that... so they’re desperately trying to preserve SOME meaning in these words while trying to pretend they aren’t the ones erasing them... so they expand it just a little bit at a time.

Very confusing.
