I've got an idea for a strategy for dealing with required "gender diversity" training at work. by Oof_Too_Humid in GenderCritical

Bring up the accidental experiment that made so many headlines a few years back. A woman had been telling her boss for years about the sexism she dealt with from their clients. He didn't really seem to believe her until he switched email accounts with her for a while and saw for himself how people treated him when they thought they were talking to her.

There's plenty of other actual research that backs this up. People will treat you worse if they think you are female. Putting she/her/hers on your email just encourages them to do so.

Do you feel differently about heterosexual vs homosexual trans people? by Bogos in GenderCritical

[–]DarthVelma 39 insightful - 1 fun39 insightful - 0 fun40 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Nope. They're all treating my oppression like a game and my existence like a costume. Gay TIMs aren't one bit less misogynist than any other male.

I had a man raid /s/antipornography yesterday and again this morning, trying to spam and destroy a small community. This is what they do to women when they're scared, huh? by [deleted] in GenderCritical

We could spend all day every day writing odes to the glory of men and they'd STILL call us man haters because we have the temerity to center women at all ever for the tiniest scintilla of a second. Playing nice to spare their delicate feefees is a fool's game.

GC is about protecting BOTH women and trans! by Overdrive in GenderCritical

Nope.

Agree with pretty much everyone else in the comments. I give less than a shit about TIMs at this point. I most emphatically AM NOT working on their behalf in any way, shape, or form.

My feminism is about women. Full stop.

I'll start giving a shit about men in dresses the day they start doing a damn thing for actual women...which will be the 12th Tuesday of Never.

Gonna push back on the "seven times the rapes". That could most definitely be down to police racism. We all know rape is severely under-reported in the first place and the police are notoriously bad about not even bothering to investigate. But I could totally see the police being more willing to go after black rapists than white ones.

As MarkTwainiac noted below, Caster is an XY male with 5-ARD. He has male internal sex organs and male levels of testosterone.

And of course you can't comment on the article to complain about them using a picture of Caster Semenya. Caster is not a woman. Caster is also not trans (the sub headline is about imposing testosterone limits on TIM athletes).

Testosterone boosts Caster's performance because Caster is male.

Count me with those who embrace Crenshaw's original concept. Understanding how multiple types of discrimination impact different women is important to feminism.

However, in practice it has been used to browbeat women into centering everyone else's issues to the point we're never allowed to actually just focus on issues that impact women. Every other oppressed group is allowed to focus on their own issues. Women are not.

Why are there so many people who call themselves queer but date heterosexually? by veruscka8 in GenderCritical

[–]DarthVelma 13 insightful - 1 fun13 insightful - 0 fun14 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Because actual gay and lesbian people who have had that word thrown at them as an epithet (or worse, while they were getting the shit kicked out of them) don't fucking call themselves queer.

Given the millions of missing women and girls in this world due to aborting female fetuses, female infanticide, and femicide generally that most people don't seem to give one tiny shit about...I don't see why a handful of radical feminists not wanting to have male children is treated like the world's greatest crime.

Proof that Reddit's banwave was extremely misogynistic by [deleted] in GenderCritical

[–]DarthVelma 13 insightful - 2 fun13 insightful - 1 fun14 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Nope. It's not about subreddit size. They banned radfemtheory. It had only been in existence for a couple of weeks. This wasn't all about the trans. They banned all of the women-centered feminist subreddits. I'm pretty sure the powers that be at reddit are using trans as a cover for their own misogyny.

[–]DarthVelma[S] 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah, that was it. Really makes it obvious it wasn't about banning for hate speech at all. We couldn't even be allowed to have a sub to discuss the foundational texts of feminism. They really just didn't want women talking to each other about anything without the menz present.
