CNN Panel Blames Trump for 'Culture Wars' by scrubking in politics

The culture war was happening before Trump was running for office. Not to glorify being a keyboard warrior, but I know because I've been a part of it since before then. Trump was just the outsider people could rally around to fight this shit. Trump himself barely understood it compared to anyone supporting him under the age of 35 back in 2016.

It's weird opening my browser and not habitually typing reddit.com now. I used that site for hours almost every day for the last 12 years. Even days I didn't, I still had some subs I'd check up on throughout the day on my phone. I just hope something like saidit can take off for topics not related to politics or the reddit purge. I don't mind talking about that stuff, but there're a lot of miscellaneous subjects I used reddit for, but they've upped their ban evasion tools to basically need at least a VPN to use it. At least I assume, since I was ban evading some subs for years with many accounts, and over the course of a week, every single account I've ever had, including ones I never posted from, or hadn't in years, got permanently suspended. Same with some people I know who I don't think even were ban evading.

I think this pandemic caused a lot of people to have enough immediate problems in their lives that they don't have the mental space to pay attention to celebrities, so they've just started to seem extra full of themselves. Also, younger people seem like they pay more attention to internet figures or niche music artists than your standard hollywood A-listers.

No doubt, there're click farms from all different entities in it driving propaganda and trying to radicalize young people, but the worst part is a few of the big obvious ones, Russia and China simply trying to create destabilization, and the democratic party trying to radicalize the youth, are using the same methods. Not saying democrats want destabilization, but if it gets them power, they will and have been doing it. Foreign entities just want to weaken the US.

It's up there as a favorite of mine along with "Islam was right about women". That one does have some wrong things about it IMO, but leftists can't acknowledge it, without by their own rules being islamophobic. It makes them short circuit.

I'll probably vote republican this year, but I wont call myself a republican because it comes with a whole lot of assumed stances I don't agree with. There isn't a label for what I am now, and at the end of the day, there's probably not a label for anyone who doesn't blindly align with a lot of views they haven't thought through because those topics weren't their priority.

You can go down the line with this one. I'm all for platforms giving people the boot for dropping N bombs and such, somebody farther to the right could claim my own "PCness" eventually turned on me.

But yeah, censorship has become a huge part of some feminist circles, but it seems to be more on the progressive feminist side, the ones who aren't really fighting for feminism, rather, the whole church of woke / intersectionalism whatever you'd call it.

Agreed. I'm against censorship overall, but in favor of censorhip/moderating based on the environment you want to create. If the front page is all conspiracy theories about jewish people, the site will never be more than a barely active extremist circle because normal people don't want to associate with it. Same with porn all over the place.

The problem with reddit is they present themselves as normal and open, but only moderating extreme stuff, but the reality is they aggressively moderate with a hard left bias.

Perhaps the answer is having minimal oversight on communities, but curating what is allowed on the front page? That's what reddit did years ago, and not doing so seems to be what caused voat to become antisemetic shock and outrage porn.

Been screaming this from the top of my lungs for five years now. The left have become the authoritarians in this country.
