Accounting for the number of deaths of Jews c. 1933-45 or specifically 1943-45 is problematic because of the logistics of locating the appropriate number of specifically Jewish individuals who were murdered in every mass grave and crematorium. The numbers could be in the millions, according to several estimates, but it is very informative that questioning the 6 million number as too high is itself "holocaust denial" and "antisemitic", whereas it's merely part of the research on the logistics of the murders.
