Not at all, I'm a realist. A woman's biology puts her at a disadvantage to men in many ways, pregnancy being an obvious one. If concessions weren't made to allow women maternity leave they couldn't participate in the workplace on an equal footing.

A woman doesn't have to get pregnant. And since maternity leave involved a born child, why isn't paternity leave necessary?

Women do need to get pregnant in a functioning society, otherwise there would be no more society. Men don't carry a child, but paternity leave is a thing as well if the mother would like to go back to work after giving birth.
