Seriously, the idea that doctors are evil and incompetent in general is fucking insane. All the doctors I've met, and I've met plenty, are some of the most caring and smartest people there are.

The notion that ventilators killed people is also lunacy. You don't get put on a ventilator unless you can't breathe for yourself. During covid doctors had to triage people that would even get a ventilator because there wasn't enough to go around.

Guess what? If you can't breathe for yourself you are dying. You already have a poor chance of living with a ventilator but you definitely aren't living without one. Use a little common sense people!

The study found that covid mortality was higher among the ventilated COVID patients who got pneumonia. (78% mortality versus, 17% for the ventilated patients who didn't get pneumonia).

The conclusion is that covid plus pneumonia sucks, and catching pneumonia while you have covid makes you around four times more likely to die.

The real question seems to be, is it true that pneumonia was left untreated for a majority of people admitted for COVID?

Where did you get that idea? That's literally nowhere in the study.

This is about ventilator associated pneumonia, VAP, which occurs because patients are coming into hospital who are drowning on their own liquified lung tissue. The best treatment discovered by science is to stick a plastic tube down your airways, which is a delivery mechanism for bacteria, which leads to bacterial VAP, which the study found increased the chance of covid death by around 4x.

If you have gotten the retarded notion into your head that for some reason, medical staff are deciding not to treat pneumonia. Then you need to take a minute and seriously examine how that notion got into your head. Because it's nothing to do with the study cited here

The study found that intubated covid patients who catch VAP are ~4x more likely to die than intubated patients who don't get pneumonia.

If you're intubated, then covid has a 17% chance of killing you (the study says).

If you catch VAP while intubated, that number becomes 78%.

That is the finding of the study, and the presentation in the OP title and linked article is totally fake

It doesn't say that the VAP was untreated.

Lie #1 - The study showed the "majority of covid hospital deaths were due to X", for a given value of X.

Truth: it said nothing at all about the causes for any majority of covid hospital deaths. It wasn't about that.

Lie #2 - The X here is "Untreated Bacterial Pneumonia"

Truth: the study DID NOT claim that a majority of deaths were caused by untreated ventilator associated pneumonia. The study was about a totally different question

Lie #3 - The pneumonia was untreated! And there's something spooky about that

Truth: The presentation of "untreated" is a total lie, in fact - the pneumonia is happening because the patient will die without a plastic tube.

They are drowning because their lung tissue has turned to fluid.

I agree with point 1. Although if the majority of COVID deaths happened on a ventilator, then this is potentially not a lie. The article does not prove its statement though, agreed.

Points 2 and 3 seem to be the same. But again, what if it's true that hardly anyone was directly treated for their pneumonia? Maybe the CDC pushed treatment plan of ventilator tubes and redemsivir was POTENTIALLY killing people, by overlooking pneumonia treatment. Again, not established as true by the article.*

The Covid caused the Pneumonia u dopes. It causes pneumonia when they are already in a weakened state from the virus. It also appears to cause tiny micro clots in the lungs in many cases, which is why people weren't responding to additional oxygen and they were initially putting people on ventilators.
