  1. Use the force (yes it's real, it's the same thing as "the matrix" which is everywhere and all around us).

  2. Fear makes sense. But the rest makes little sense. Often you hear of people being drawn into whole false realities (which aren't actually any more false than this one, but regardless), which is far greater than what we can accomplish. And it makes sense cuz the matrix.

  3. This is nonsense. If even we aren't bound to specific location like that, no way they could be. Plus I highly doubt they're intended to be here at all, they would be redpills hacking in. This notion comes from people confusing them with memory imprints or time glitches.

  4. Perhaps. It could also be that they didn't fall for the white light trap and the propaganda that life in this world is a good thing. Day in and day out the Stoic logos crap is blasted everywhere: "nothing is really bad, evil doesn't really exist, the world is divine and good, everything is ultimately good, nature is the basis of morality, all your suffering and hard work will pay off, you need to live life to learn, you need to pay for bad karma and don't listen to Galilean prophets who can absolve that, we're all one..." Almost every belief system falls for that, and nearly every religion tells you to go into the white light tunnel to "heaven", despite the warning that "The kingdom of God is not coming with observation, nor will they say 'Look here' or 'There'; look, the kingdom of God is inside of (or among) you" (Luke 17:20b-21). And now with the rising popularity of atheism people are so gullible as to think there is nothing else but this. But for those who nonetheless haven't fallen for it, "unfinished business" is hardly the only reason.
