‘Less clumpy’ universe may suggest existence of mysterious forces. "God made it" is obviously not an option.

Well yeah, that hypothesis is devoid of predictive power. Goddidit is only useful as a lazy explanation for something you don't understand, not for actually gaining understanding.

More like the devil did it. Take a closer look at even the laws of physics, they're fundamentally evil. Let alone actual life.
