Happiness is coming when Jesus returns in a few years after the great tribulation. The point of this world is not be happy, not since man was kicked out of paradise. We live in a battle ground but the devil has convinced most people this life is a playground. Most people are willing to sin and reject Jesus because the devil convinces them it will make them happy. But it's a trap to take them in hell with him. Some religions enforce the idea that life is just a giant playground where God is playing with himself, and if you do what authorities tell you to, you'll be reborn in the next life with more toys.

And those authorities also invented hell. If you go back to the original languages and cultures you can see that the earliest Christians knew of no such place.
