They can steal your money to pay for the death machine but they can't pay for a health machine? I have never wanted any of my taxes going to any military or secret agencies or foreign aid (rigged scams), especially to nations that don't need it (ie. Israel). I'd rather it go to actual health care. We don't get a real say.

Taxes are justified if you want to enjoy these kinds of benefits.

Taxes are NEVER justified. They can track and trace every penny in our bank accounts, but we only get to vote once in a while for pathetic (s)elections for corruptible puppets who don't even represent us. We should vote on real issues and on where our taxes are actually spent.

The masks are an ineffective stupid ritual of obedience. I will NEVER wear a mask or "get used to it". My freedom and autonomy are not secondary to that of the masses. People can get fat as fuck or smoke or skydive without my permission or condemnation. Their health is not my responsibility. I care and will help if I can, but people are free to do as they like. Masks do NOT help anything other than to sow discord among the sheeple/people.

As an economist, I can tell you that making the "corporations" pay taxes hurt only the poor, and the poorer you are, the more hurt you will be. The mechanics of this are somewhat involved, but it remains true. If you wish to discuss this topic in depth, let's open another thread.

As an economist, I can tell you that making the "corporations" pay taxes hurt only the poor, and the poorer you are, the more hurt you will be. The mechanics of this are somewhat involved, but it remains true. If you wish to discuss this topic in depth, let's open another thread.

There is certainly heavy truth to that but it's not the entire story. Yes, it is very complex. And there is a deep rooted culture of greedy exploitation at the top, with a modicum of pragmatism. To actually tax the rich, they would actually have to want to pay taxes and have goals and purpose in supporting the lower classes and their utility.

Subsidies can fill pockets, dramatically distort markets (with pros and cons to be exploited), and/or keep some industries, especially critical ones, alive when otherwise they'd die. Similarly too, a billionaire might intentionally let his corporation die without regard to all the employees, because he's got golden parachutes and other investments. Meanwhile, a millionaire might do what it takes to save his company by being fair to the employees, taking less profit for himself, etc. In the big ways that matter this "mid-level" millionaire thinking won't trickle up to the actual ruling class - so ultimately you are correct.

I mean yeah. Here in Czechia we have an okay health care but at the same time we are not a world superpower. We could also be born in some real uncivilized shithole instead.

I don't know, surely they have to pay taxes if it's in the law? Make some new law? Politicians over here in Czechia are starting to talk about a "digital tax" for taxing tech giants who spend little money here yet they have huge income thanks to all the people who use their services. Why wouldn't stuff like this be possible in your country?

Depends how you define that term.

So how is a country supposed to run? Doesn't it need employees who want to get paid?

Why does a country need to run? What benefit does government do? Who decides what is right for the people? What makes them so righteous? Government is not a necessary evil, but humanity is necessarily tribal and therefore government will exist regardless. Between the 4 unattainable abstract extremist forms (below) we must find balance, preferably minarchism with a small practical government. A fair open transparent peaceful accountable consistent and honest FOTPACH government would actually be legitimate and could be supported in many ways that don't require taxes.

Totalitarianism is extremist control over everything, and will never end well except for the ruling class.

Anarchism is the extremist form of no-rulers (but not rule-free) where people are free to form groups and mobs and mafias and government, so it never ends well.

Communism is the extremist form of socialist control where government controls everything. All governments are corrupt so it never ends well.

The Free Market is the extremist form of no-regulations where people are free to be capitalists, and even if some make produce dangerous things or exploitative scams there can be markets to foster fairness or even hunt them down.

Laws are only as good as their government. Here in Canada it's all gone to shit. Be wary of digital anything that is "automatic" or goes through the hands of government.

It's a proven thing - you have a group of people that run everything, be it a government, a monarch or whatever. Not sure if I can imagine anything else, and even if I could, it's not exactly realistic to expect it could happen in today's world. So you work with what you have and try to do your best by voting for parties that hopefully won't screw over its voters.

The free market could do that. Do you need that for counties and provinces within your nation? Borders are artificial divisive bullshit that fence around economic policies that serve the ruling class of course.

The modern age is crazier than ever, as is the forces of haves vs have-nots. So naturally, if we were to remove borders now it would require a lot of effort to fix injustices, to make things fair, and to help poor nations to fix themselves. Of course the CIA won't ever let that happen. So this whole idea is moot.

Not sure if I can imagine anything else, and even if I could, it's not exactly realistic to expect it could happen in today's world.

I'm hoping an A.I. rises up to bite the ruling class in the ass - then it can bring fairness to all of humanity if it cares, and if there is anyone left.

Yeah but they also show where a people of certain culture live. If borders disappear, cultures might disappear as well. I like my mostly homogenous society. I like borders.

Have you ever lived in a smaller country (like mine for example:D)? It's not perfect, most parties are shit, but I don't think it's rigged. We were under communism for 40 years (though not me personally) so a lot of us have an idea what rigged elections look like.
