I would argue with your title wording a bit in that it is a combination of victimhood and the need to fix that creates real lasting damage. Proactive victims can create and drum up all sorts of fuss and support and they are really a force to be reckoned with.

I think one of the best ways to fight back against a group of "victims" is to actually give further voice to the most deranged ones. Put some kind of spotlight on them, showing that whatever it is has gone too far (it has to take a step too far) and you will see pushback.

However the good victims know this and use this, so idk. You take a step too far, push back, you stop. You take a few more steps next time, and you can see how ridiculous notions can slowly gain ground. I wonder how you combat something like that.

The extremists are not a good way to stereotype the forces you choose to reckon with. Realistic understanding of them is a better way to turn them against their own extremists. For example, progressive Jimmy Dore is fully against the insane corporate SJW Dems who claim to be progressive but only serve the NeoCons.

Jimmy is the best, you reminded me his stream is T minus 1 hour.

So to expose fakers you both have to be within the group they are faking and expose lies and hypocrisy. It's a pretty solid bet. There's a few issues where I do think this way and see value in the people who are a part of it speaking up. Others don't take kindly to those people even if they are on their side in some big ways.

You need not necessarily be within their group, but you should understand where they're coming from to better understand the true adversaries and their nuances - and to better explain to the others how they're being deceived.

I do so wish Jimmy Dore and Graham Elwood would wake the fuck up about the Climate Change Scam and its scientism dogma. The fight the lockdown but not the authority of "science".
