The BMW battery is modular, and has 8 modules, which cost less than $3,500 from the dealer. I would be unlikely that more than one is bad.

But possible.

Whoever is billing $71,000 to replace it is making better money than I am.

That very low battery life span is quite disturbing....

People don't realize that you can barely expect 10 years out of any kind of newer battery.

Reminds me of how we switched from incandescent light bulbs that last 10 to 20+ years, which we had massive infrastructure for to make super efficiently(cheaply), for expensive LED bulb that rarely last a whole year and will pollute the world. (Their cost is reduced by your tax money subsidizing them)
