That sounds nice in theory, but in practice the other person is always a dumbass. As such, there is no point in having a discussion. At most there can be subjects one is ignorant about, but a discussion with opposing views is pointless, because once an opinion has been formed with strong arguments, it would require stronger arguments to persuade, and since generally people are stupid, that's not going to happen.

when I have argued with various tards on the interwebz I understand that many of said tards would never even acknowledge logic/reason/facts, but I see the other people reading it all as being able to decide for themselves
