Note the source. This is a very useful article to read, as long as we keep in mind we are reading the perspective of the Chinese power structure. While we have to be careful of the clear conflict of interest in material that comes from the Chinese side, however, it remains important to read sources that get outside of the US/NATO "we are the good guys" narrative. We'll be able to find the opposite of this article anywhere we wish in the NYT, WaPo, the alphabets, etc. Using the balance of a source biased against the US rather than for it allows us a genuine comparison of perspectives, from which we (the reader) can begin to decide which perspective makes more sense in a given scenario.

Couldn't agree more. Every outlet lies to some degree. We're already being fed the, "Russia's about to invade Ukraine! We need to go to war with them yesterday!", narrative.

I remember Ukraine's "peaceful" revolution when their democratically elected government was overthrown by a mob rushing into its capital building. I also remember how our media cheered. Funny to compare that to the media's Jan 6 hysterics. I also remembered how the new government in Kiev then began murdering it's own citizens in Donetsk because they didn't want to be ruled by un-elected thugs, and in retaliation Kiev bombed their regional airport into the ground.

And literally no western outlet batted an eyelash, because the new government had essentially been installed by us.

So yeah, I'm no fan of Russia, but I can understand Russia's unease and fear of being invaded for the 100th time in their country's history when we're toppling governments on their doorstep.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. The US can't go into a direct hot war because, aside from it triggering WWIII, we need the US-loyal Ukrainian regime to look organic. If we rush in and fight Russia for them, then it becomes obvious they're just another puppet state. So we just dump as much money and guns on them as possible and hope the Ukranians we've paid off look menacing enough to scare away Russia.

The people at the top are playing the game of empire. Imperialists want absolute control. It's the only meaning they see in life (which makes them pathetic, actually, but they are incapable of such introspection). The fact that the populations of the countries they rule have no interest whatsoever in this game is meaningless to them.

Whether we give a shit or not has no bearing on whether the imperialists continue this shit, to the point of hot war. The only way they will be stopped is if they are STOPPED. The imperialists need to be exposed and removed from power.

While I am suspicious of Trump for many reasons and have never been a supporter, if there is one thing he did right during his presidency, it was "America First". It's not about the US "running the world". It's about the US getting back to running the US again, dropping this internationalist poison which is about to annihilate us all. Assuming Trump stayed true to his message (and indications are that he was pretty good on this), this one change of focus is a huge step in the right direction.

Unfortunately, his support of the vaccines negates any positive sensation this causes. The vaccines must stop. Hard stop. That he is pushing propaganda preventing that eliminates any possible trust I could offer the man. Also, his support within the hardline Netanyahu cohort (who represent imperialists of their own flavor) is a huge strike against him.

US get out of the internationalist stance, yes. Trump, no.
