Agreed. All the markers are there. It's mostly mothers who suffer from MBP (aka factitious disorder imposed on another), it's mostly mothers as the active or sole parent in these cases, and gender dysphoria is the jackpot in terms of attention the parent will receive. It'd be massively surprising if we didn't see MBP sufferers leaping on the trans bandwagon given they'll be lauded and will receive very little scrutiny.

BPD is known to be inherited at around 55% of cases. The same percentage applies to autogynephilia being inherited.

It's likely trans status comes from having a personality disorder inherited from a parent rather than being brought up by someone with a personality disorder.

Over 80% of trans people have a personality disorder.

    Along maternal lines....

    I don't think that's the case

Even so rate of 53 per cent contrasted with 6 is unusually high given that a high chance of inheritance in people diagnosed with BPD doesn't mean a high rate of people actually inheriting BPD through genetic factors. Having a 55% rate of inheritance for instances of BPD doesn't mean that parents with BPD will pass it to their children in 55% of cases. I don't think we can put this down to this down to genetic factors being passed to children.

Who would have thought identity disorders in parents cause identity disorders in kids?!?!?!?

This whole shit is just sexist homophobic BS by the medical industrial complex.

53% compared to 6% have BPD... I think they just missed 47% in the first one, and who knows how many in the second.

studies show men are more likely to be gay when their fathers are very old, I wonder if that correlates. If the father is very old he may have less energy and ability to control the wife and keep her from mistreating the child. The woman might be more depressed because she has an old and unattractive husband that she only married for money.

I think it's more that sperm decays so you get more mutations.

Old fathers have kids with more genetic mutations and old mothers have kids with more chromosomal issues.

Because the two types of gametes decay in different ways you can't cancel out the problems by having one old and one young parent.

The cause of homosexuality is still quite elusive, but I'm getting more confident it has little to do with genetics. Evidence supports that molestation during adolescence causes homosexual preferences. Being born into a wealthier family also has higher instances of homosexuality.

    [–]Heterophobe4Life 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

That evidence was falsified in order to cover up the widespread abuse of girls by men and boys by women. Not all molestation victims turn out gay. Quite the opposite, in fact. Some grow up to be very homophobic. Gay abuse victims were gay before the abuse, and no, a child being gay is not an invitation for adults to help themselves.

I doubt the idea that people are straight or gay. They have straight sex and gay sex, but sexuality is not an immutable characteristic. There has never been any evidence found in the human genome that codes for sexuality. But molestation victims are 7x as likely to consider themselves gay than the unmolested. If that's not true, I'd like to read more about that being made up. At best, I don't think anyone knows why people develop sexual preference.

That's tr-ns propaganda and you know it. A is A and gay is gay. I was never molested. The only abuse I got was physical and emotional.

    [–]Gaslov 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (6 children)

You're gay because you didn't have a social aversion to the idea, opportunity presented itself at the right time, and it felt good. So now you associate that feeling with that act. Had it been the opposite sex, you'd likely consider yourself straight right now, instead.

I'm gay because the Jewish God Adonai of The One True Faith made me this way. We should all be so lucky.

    [–]jet199 6 insightful - 3 fun6 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

    Hang on.

Are you saying you yourself would be gay if you didn't have a social aversion or opportunity?

Hate to break it to you but that means you yourself are gay, or at least bi.

    [–]Gaslov 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I'm thinking you're missing what I'm saying. We need to challenge the idea that people fit into these neat little sexual orientation boxes. There aren't straights, gays, and bis. There are just people who commit a specific sexual act and who they're having sex with really comes down to who they associate good sex with. I associate good sex with women. I postulate objectively that I could have made that connection with men instead had circumstances been different, especially during adolescence. I think that goes for everyone. And it's why boys who are molested during asolescense, end up associating that feeling with gay sex and end up chasing it for life. They believe they're just gay. But they don't have to be.

Tell me you’re bisexual without telling me you’re bisexual.

I didn't choose to be gay. You chose not to be gay. Stop projecting your perversion onto your Gay superiors, breeder.

likely nature and nurture combined. Mutations like jet says, which also cause other mental problems like autism. It can't help though to have terrible or absent parents.

    [–]Trajan 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

While I'd say abuse is likely a factor, given how it's overrepresented, there are other biological factors. The more boys a mother has, odds of a boy being homosexual increase the later he is in the order of births. Evidence is also pointing towards being on the autism spectrum as a factor, not a surprise to anybody who ever visited Tumblr or Deviant Art.

    Learn how stats work.

More likely is not the same as always.

it's surely not a hard and fast rule, and not all children of old parents will turn out gay. Pollution may also play a part, or maybe your mom smoked or drank while pregnant. Could also be how you were raised. No father around, insane mother. That's what this study shows.

    [–]Heterophobe4Life 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Nope. No absentee father here. No -ns-n- mother, either. And if pollution played a part, there would be no heterosexuals in California and all those cute surfer dudes in tight wetsuits would be asking for my number instead of wasting their hotness on girls.

    [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

why, are you assuming there is no pollution in california?

The air is much cleaner than it was in the 1980s and 1990s, clear enough to see all the garbage on the street and the rising homeless population.

There's likely a connection. Older fathers increase the risk of autism, this condition being substantially over represented in the alphabet pantheon.

There are studies pointing in thus direction, although anybody who has spent time browsing Tumblr, DA, or Twitter would certainly suspect a connection between the spectrum and LGBT.

    [–]VulptexVoluntaryist 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's because humans are an extremely homogeneous and social species, with little difference between each one (at least of the same culture, sex, and age group). And autism is an impairment of exactly that function.

    ...discouraged the development of autonomy.

Autonomous people tend to think for themselves. Can't "build back better" that way.
