This is a discussion about how to make a better "blackhole of cash".

Agreed and I do think welfare can be defended. However, this "cash reparations for racial grievances" is something I do not think can be defended. If there are poor blacks I am okay with them getting welfare payments so they are able to eat, I am fine with that. I am not fine with however is the government writing a check for black people on the basis of them being the eternal victims of forever and for always.

Ideally there would never be racial considerations for welfare. It really does qualify as illegal already, but as long as it is racist against white people no one will ever challenge it. A social safety net is absolutely necessary. But it does need to be kept from becoming corrupt and gamed. And no one should ever make the claim that the recipients are OWED it by society. They should be grateful for it.

I mean that's just a cope. There's no real way of getting over that. Welfare will always be abused and people will feel entitled. That's just bound to happen.

Except it is not a coping mechanism, it is literally taught. You can't have any conversation with a liberal about welfare without them making up claims about how poor people are victims and that is WHY they are poor, and that makes welfare required to even out the playing field. In reality MOST poor people are poor because of their own decisions and actions and no matter how much welfare they receive they will always continue making those poor decisions and will continue to fall back into poverty; relatively speaking.

Sure, but the entitlement attitude is the coping mechanism. Not many people like to feel like a leech on society so they make up this story to justify it that them just being alive entitles them to certain "rights" which are almost always gibs. There's no real way to change that without serious cultural upheaval which we're so far from it's basically a fantasy at this point. We don't even have vocal cultural agreement on drag kids so don't even think about reforming that gibs attitude.
