A pretty good illustration of how a headline can simultaneously be the truth and a lie.

In the actual poll, 96% of Americans said they were sympathetic toward Israelis, and 87% of Americans said they were sympathetic toward Palestinians.

50% of Americans said the military response to Hamas was fully justified, and 50% said, well, something else.

CNN is extremely far from an unbiased source for this topic. I'd ignore their polls on this.
