Our DOJ system is built around the concept of this evidence completely overriding direct evidence of being there being impossible. The direct evidence is considered "circumstantial," in complete contradiction of the layman's understanding.

Is nobody going to comment on a four hundred year sentence for being a getaway driver for a mugging?

14 year sentence for raping a young girl. 400 years for driving a car. Hmmm.

I know, nuts right? And the officers were shocked when dude was still in prison despite his car not matching or some such.
Poor dude. He didn't give up his Hope though.
