Once Ukraine has decided that it will liberate it's occupied land, then it's not up to America or Boris or anyone to say otherwise

Damn maybe if Putin hasn't poisoned Roman Abramovic for his peace efforts, we could take Putin's feigned desire for peace bit more credibly

so either you don't support democracy or you don't support ukraine trying to recapture the separatist territories there is no middle ground

Why do you think that? I believe that Ukraine's efforts to liberate it's occupied territories are in line with the will of the Ukrainian people

Just to give an example. 85% of Ukrainians believe in liberating the occupied territories.

https://ratinggroup.ua/research/ukraine/v_dbudova_ukra_ni_ta_m_zhnarodna_dopomoga_20-21_listopada_2022.html

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the conviction that Ukraine's victory in the war is the liberation of all its territories, including Crimea and occupied Donbas, has increased (from 74% in March to 85% in November 2022)

Now you show me why you think you're right

Edit- and here's the last time Donbass residents were given a vote on being Ukraine versus being russia

The last time was last year. It was an overwhelming result but I notice you overlooked it. Curious.

I will answer your curiosity. It's because 143 countries agreed that the fake referenda were an affront to international law. 5 countries voted against.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_General_Assembly_Resolution_ES-11/4

So really, it's more curious that you are aligned with the 5. How did you end up believing a fake lie that only 5 other countries would agree to? Is it because russia weaponises information to attack gullible idiots like you on the internet? Really it's far less curious that I'd hold a view aligned with the vast majority of planet earth, compared to you, who believes a fake lie put out by enemy propagandists

other countries get to decide when democracy counts

is not the dunk you think it is

You cannot both pretend that you value democracy while also pretending 143-5 isn't relevant.

I don't, by the way, believe your pretense that you value democracy. Otherwise you wouldn't side against the democratic nations.

But for as long as you're going to pretend that you care, you cannot also pretend that 143-5 is not an important vote.

International law reflects that you cannot invade a region and then enforce a referendum under wartime, to legitimise an annexation.

Please read this carefully

Here are just two points that 143 nations of the world agreed to.

Condemns the organization by the Russian Federation of illegal so-called referendums in regions within the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine and the attempted illegal annexation of the Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine, following the organization of the above-mentioned referendums;

Declares that the unlawful actions of the Russian Federation with regard to the illegal so-called referendums held from 23 to 27 September 2022 in parts of the Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine that, in part, are or have been under the temporary military control of the Russian Federation, and the subsequent attempted illegal annexation of these regions, have no validity under international law and do not form the basis for any alteration of the status of these regions of Ukraine;

The idea of China, of all nations, pointing out the shit on America's hands when they're neck deep in the cesspool themselves is just hilarious.

The Chinks are aching for a fight. If they can't goad us with Taiwan they'll manufacture something else. That one chink got all butthurt when they called him Winnie the Pooh.
