The law in of itself is not racist, it's just that racist cops decided to ticket minorities more than whites. Those in charge saw one way they can get rid of one piece of racist policing is to do away with the law. Racist cops wont stop being racist by targeting minorities and letting whites slide with not wearing a helmet.

I thought websites like the free thinker were about "personal freedom" and "personal choice"? They should be happy there is one less restrictive law on the books that force some to do what they don't want to do. Those who value their health will still wear helmets. America is about personal choice, isn't it? Or only when it comes to vaccines and actions that do not target minorities?

Nope. Minorities didn't wear helmets. It's the whites who ride sport bikes with full gear, minorities ride bikes because they have drunk driving convictions and got their licenses revoked.

What evidence do you have for accusing these cops of being racist? For instance we have evidence of you being racist because you’ve said racist things, so where is the evidence to back up your assertion that these cops are deliberately targeting blacks due to racism?

Looks like someone did not read the article.

However, data presented to the Board of Health has shown racist and discriminatory enforcement. Seattle Police Department data collected and analyzed by Seattle Neighborhood Greenways and the Helmet Law Working Group shows that police disproportionately gave helmet law citations to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color cyclists.

For instance we have evidence of you being racist because you’ve said racist things

lol, the article has nothing to do with what someone has said on the internet. The article linked to is about cops discriminating against nonwhites when it comes time to hand out tickets for not wearing a helmet.

so where is the evidence to back up your assertion that these cops are deliberately targeting blacks due to racism?

In the article, sad you chose not to read it because you would have already known the answer to your own question.

It says they disproportionately gave these tickets to blacks, it doesnt provide any evidence they did so because they were “racist”. Obviously if blacks are disproportionately breaking that law they would be disproportionately ticketed, no?

Will it be racist once your minorities start cracking their heads open? Oh no, the laws of physics are racist, what shall we do.

Will it be racist once your minorities start cracking their heads open?

No because people have the personal freedom to choose to wear a helmet. How is a minority dealing with the consequences of their personal choice not to wear a helmet possibly be considered racist?

Oh no, the laws of physics are racist

Oy vey.

That's not how it works.

When white people keep wearing helmets and black people stop and start getting injures that will be seen as structural racism no matter if personal choice is involved or not.

it's just that racist cops decided to ticket minorities more than whites.

You must of overlooked that according to research that blacks wear helmets less than Whites or Asians.

Blacks skulls have less brain matter in them so they risk less by not wearing helmets

I agree with your assessment. American Thinker has some good articles but they also have articles that go overboard like this one. Still it's good that the article has generated this discussion.

the law it self is parental in nature and claims you are not old enough to make decisions for yourself and because of your stupidity they are going to enact a penalty to protect you from you!

i road motorcycles without helmets. it was my choice . LET ME DIE. leave me alone. holy fuck! leave me alone.

there is no value in saving others by force

you are not helping others, and no the problem is not in HOW the parental controls are enforced.

THE PROBLEM IS THEY EXIST

This is wrong. Black peoples are in the fringes of society, and they behave that way. No helmet is the way to go. You could make it law to give all black peoples riding a bike a helmet, instead of a ticket. And you would end up with an endless supply of helmet and a resale market that is flooded with helmets.
