It is literally on his website: "Bill Nye, scientist, engineer, comedian, author, and inventor". I even highlighted the word for you, so that you can not pretend to miss it.

Only a blind person could miss the fact it's a common misstatement made by most of more his fanatical followers.

I would rather put out a campfire with my face than waste any more time on that man.
