Q: Who doesn't lose?

A: Landlords and slumlords and banksters. Rent doesn't stop for viruses.

so, are you a renter?

I am. Are you? Or a rentee?

Landlords are not the only industries that are exempt from the social stalling crippling affects. Middle and upper classes won't be remotely as affected as the poor who can't even afford a $500 emergency. 1 month is bad. 2 months is INFUCKINGSANE! IMO.

yep. i commented a few times how real estate is the best investment.

plus, we might have a situation eventually, where luxury items will be cheap, but basic necessities will go up-up-up.

Good to know, should I ever have anyone with extra to invest asking me.

I suspect real estate can be both a necessity and luxury, depending on...

Location location location.

i would like a small woodlot next to me, can't ask for a better location than that. but the council is not selling it. so i go and chop down the trees anyway - they don't care :-)

LOL!

Council? So it's "public land"? Sounds win-win.

Did you get all the wood you needed this winter while it's dryer?

Those YouTube channels like Primitive Technology come to mind.

I just added it to my YouTube-DLG and tomorrow I'll have most if not all of their 51 videos archived.

Make hay while the sun shines. (Make gay where it don't.)

I hate them I hope the government deprivatizes housing and makes all houses government owned

The govt will evict you if you don't follow orders.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (4 children)

LOL. And then they'll arrest you for loitering or being a nuisance or something.

They put surveillance cameras on the govt housing near where i live, i don't think it's for theft or security from outsiders either.

They have a curfew during certain events and holidays or during certain times they aren't allowed to have people over. The cops show up Pretty regularly if the camera shows ppl in the hallways or on the outside.

I don't think ppl who think govt owning or providing things such as housing understand what that means, but i fear they will find out.

Sorry to hear all that.

On a lighter note...

Get a nice drone, find a secret launching location. Fly that drone to as many cameras as you can along a preplanned route. From the drone, apply the black spraypaint to all the camera lenses you can. Land the drone in the secret landing location. Retrieve drone. Plan next route. Rinse. Repeat. Buzz buzz little bee.

I have a very similar scenario in the screenplay/graphic novel I'm writing.

I don't live in them.

A person i once worked with lives in them, and i asked him about it while because there are always cops there past 2300 hours, he was explaining a lot of crazy stiff to me about that place.

But he was absolutely fine with it, and he was seemingly fine with whatever hoops the govt would make him jump thru for his low cost housing, and other gratis gifts. When i asked him if he wanted to get out on his own and he seemed apathetic about it.

Freedom has pros and cons.

I agree, a lot, yet not, a lot. It's not that simple.

1) Government ownership is another form of privatization - controlled by those in power - and it's always been a rigged game from the dawn of time.

2) When have you ever been able to rely on the government 100%? There will be collateral casualties if that happened.

3) Ownership = respect. "Drive it like you rented it." or worse "Drive it like you stole it." indicates a lack of respect for the vehicle. If you "drive it like you own it" you're going to take care of it. Same for houses. Not that you'll drive it but that you'll care for it. :P

4) Small community government with a strong fair democratic process I can get behind - like a housing coop.

5) There is no 5. I could likely come up with something but I'm tired.
