I miss global warming when we were told the sun would shine for more than 5 days a year in the UK.

Bullshit - you have to look at the averages, not each year. Look at this:

https://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/charctic-interactive-sea-ice-graph/

Then select 'Hide all years' on the right side.

Then select '2011-2020 Average' on the right side.

Then select '1979-1980 Average' on the right side.

You're spreading misinformation, homie. Big Oil thanks you for your service.

This is blatantly, politically-based. Looks like it was written by an upset 12-yr old.

It's crucial to note that short-term fluctuations in ice extent can occur due to various factors such as weather patterns and natural variability, but the long-term trend is a decrease in Arctic ice. Scientific assessments, including those by organizations like the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) scratch geometry dash, have consistently reported the decline of Arctic sea ice.

Thank god that the first two weeks of January 2024 has the largest sea ice extent for 21 years! Cherry picking that one figure makes everything okay then. No need to mention that it is still hugely below normal.

Or that the 2023 summer extents was the third or fourth lowest in recorded history. And that the 2023 winter extents was also third or fourth lowest in recorded history too.

Definitely no need to mention that sea ice down in Antarctica, has just about tied with the lowest level since records began.

And especially let's not mention the 40+ year trend where the Arctic sea ice is shrinking by almost 4% each decade. Anything that takes more than a week is clearly unimportant, right?

Both the Arctic and Antarctic have a cold side and warm side. They also have complex under ice thermal water jive going on with funky high salt concentration brine that wont freeze and that kind of crap. They are floating on unfreezable water.

Any time someone talks about average temperatures or a temperature history in once place being representative of the whole, in relation to overall climate, they are likely trying to deceive you.

They love to erroneously mix-in-match average global or continental temperatures, with specific temperatures in specific locations (such as proxy ice cores).
