Strange times were living in. The fact they are already using no flight lists to target political dissenters is an incredible abuse of power. One that could be prosecuted in the future. The no flight lists were created after 9/11 to prevent jihadists from blowing up or hijacking airliners. Now it's apparently being used to target Americans who are at zero risk of doing either, and who havent been charged with any crimes and therefore couldnt be considered flight risks either. Nothing like this has ever been seen in modern American history, not even during the Mcarthy era, and the dystopian connotations are obvious to just about anyone with half a brain. Once you start down this road there's no telling where it would end. Cancel culture had already long since surpassed the worst of Mcarthyism.

One of the risks from their point of view is their own incompetence. By obsessing over largely manufactured non existent threats while ignoring dramatically rising crime, murder, riots and mob anarchy resulting from their own policies, they risk an eventual backlash that will bring about a reexamination of their abuses of power and lies. If 4 years from now the overall murder and crime rate has skyrocketed, homelessness has skyrocketed, and the economy is in freefall, they will have a lot of splaining to do. Garland could easily go down as the most disasterous AG in history. The man who tried to turn the FBI into the Stasi while overseeing record levels of crime.
