The way school is structured teaches you to always bow to authority and never question it.

No - the opposite - schools are required to teach critical thinking skills (THIS is what authoritarians DON'T want, wheres they do want you to learn to bow to authority) It's also not the purpose of the school. Perhaps you're thinking of military or church schools, but this is NOT public education. Schools help students learn. That's all.

Absolutely not. Funding for education is better under Democrat leadership because this is how you train an educated society. What you are doing is pushing an authoritarian GOP argument that education is dangerous, while also pushing the nonsense that education is dangerous because it's authoritarian. See how confused that is? It's so far from the reality that the only group of voters who will believe this aren't intelligent, knowledgeable, or good at critical thinking, all three of which one can develop AT SCHOOL.

Well you obviously went to school a long time ago if you got paddled. It's gotten worse each generation. Boomers always complained that their kids were getting way too much homework. Then their grandkids got even more, to the point where they had zero time for anything else. And most schools have also extended the length of the school day. And now they're cutting recess even, and trying to eliminate all breaks and even have weekend school. Thank God I made it out of there alive.

In addition to that, they don't do learning anymore. In the first place since they put so much pressure on students now they get almost everything done by middle school. After that they repeat the exact same useless crap over and over just to keep kids busy for 12 years. And the "core" subjects are taken so seriously that everything else is being cut. The only reason it holds up is because everyone is programmed not to question it. Under the slightest bit of scrutiny it all falls apart.

You're better off going to college or starting a career. But we keep kids in school for 12 years because we can't let go of that outdated tradition. And other countries are even worse. That's also part of the problem, since other countries are doing it we want to jump on the bandwagon.

One major reason for all of that is the continual reduction of education budgets each year for the past 40 years. The traditional supporters of education have been Dems while those notorious for cutting education funding, as well as - during the Trump era - awarding tax dollars to bible-thumping charter schools - have been the GOP. Now the GOP propaganda is focused destroying educational options, school boards, libraries, state colleges, and other forms of educational support. It's been part of their plans all along to worsen income inequality, which helps in the building of a banana republic. Teachers, schools and other educational options for kids are not to blame for any of this. They aren't the 'gatekeepers', nor could they be, with their level of funding. No matter where kids learn, many of them enjoy learning.

No one wants income inequality except for the ultra-rich (who are almost all Democrats, weird isn't it?). We simply disagree on how to get there. Go chat with some Republicans with an open and honest mind. Their ideal society is not the dystopia the media says they want. Though on the social issues it does become increasingly so because the SJWs make them so angry they can't think straight anymore. Three years ago they just wanted to be left alone and didn't wish harm on anyone. I can't say that's the case anymore ever since the insane riots. A lot of them are now on board with criminalizing LGBT especially, and more afraid of immigrants (before it was only illegals they didn't want). What changed is their view of the left switched from one of communist tyrants to anarchists. Since politics is so reactionary these days they just do the opposite of what they think they other side is doing.
