So why the sudden departure? My, maybe half-baked theory, is that now that Fentanyl is available, there is no need to grow poppies since Fentanyl and Heroin have about the same effects but poppies require land and a certain climate to grow. Fentanyl can be made fairly easily with the right chemicals and a lab of some sort. No, I have no experience but have read and heard about how it is made and its effects.

That's a solid theory. Fent is far easier to smuggle because you need far less of it. Opium was used as a weapon against Russia since the cold war. That was the reason for the Russian invasion of Afghanistan during the cold War. I suspect that remains true, and Fent is a perfect substitute.

With very little to base this generalization on, I've noticed that lately hospitals seem to never prescribe opiates anymore, unless it is fent they give you in the office. Doctors have voice that they will get "wrote up" for prescribing pain control now, that you take home. They give sever pain emergencies in the ER a little fent and a a bunch of ketamine and other weirdo shit to avoid actual pain control using actual pain medication. This results in the very profitable Yo-Yo-ER...where people with serious pain problems go to the ER, take hours to control their pain with fent and weirdo shit...then get sent home with no pain control, but instead alternatives like muscle relaxors....so then when the pain control wears off in like 5 hours...they go back to the ER.....yo-yo'ing back over and over. Surgery is the only pain control now.

Where I live even ordinary codeine sulphate is a no-no even for legitimate pain they can see on an X-ray.
