Submission statement:

American Airlines first had a wave of flight cancellations in late June 2021, from a shortage of 737 flights. They scaled back their flight schedule. Now, about six weeks later, they are having another staffing shortage that is causing hudreds of flight to get cancelled, and passengers being stuck at airports for days. This is day 3 of the chaos.

Spirit Air is having similar issues.

What is the root of these staffing shortages?

With increasing numbers of businesses reporting supply chain issues (we can consider "staffing" a supply in a loose sense), it is obvious to those paying attention that when TPTB fuck with the economy as thoroughly as they have - in the name of Covid, but is Covid just the excuse to do what they wanted/needed to do? - the economy enters collapse. You think it's bad now, it's about to get much worse. Think what happens when enough people are given the choice jab-or-nojob and choose nojob. The outright destruction being wrought in western societies is unprecedented. Never before in history were people connected into hierarchical networks as complex as exist today even for food. When the people at the apex of those pyramids actively work to destroy the connections among these networks, the whole thing falls apart.

Western people are faced today with a choice:

1) Face the insecurity (up to and including lethal insecurity) of disconnecting ourselves / being disconnected from the networks and figuring out how to build new ones among ourselves that are voluntary

or

2) Accept slavery to the people running the original networks in return for the resources they are willing to grant. Those choosing this option need to acknowledge and recognize explicitly that "non-leaders" will be allowed no input in this model. Within these networks, freedom and personal autonomy are not welcome. Period.

Maybe they need to lower their employment standards and raise their pay.

it might be the pilots. there are all sorts of certification issues for pilots too, that was one contributor of possibility in their first shortage earlier in the summer.
