The satanic temple is a publicity front designed to groom people, in this case vulnerable and impressionable children, into the belief system upon which the real satanic worship is based.

The "temple" has been scrubbed of everything that can easily be identified as evil or harmful, and then they claim all the remaining offensive dogmas are sarcastic as a starting point to mock thier detractors. They are manipulative liars, and you either fell for it or are a shill.

The foundation of all the devil worshiping pagan religions is the moral paradigm that states that morality is subjective and not even God has the authority to dictate it to anyone. The "temple of satan" is grooming children to accept this paradigm because it will later be used to get them to never challenge anything they find morally reprehensible.

They also mock religions while being a religion and simply lie about what they are. Then they use propaganda tactics like ad hominems to attack anyone who challenges them. This is a dispicable tactic that should be enough to reveal them as the bad guys, but unfortunately people are stupid and cant see through thier bullshit.

This problem is compunded by the fact that stupid people love to think they are smarter than others and the church of satan uses that by claiming that what the devil offers is true freedom and knowledge. So all the morons who fall for their bullshit end up being arrogant fools who refuse to listen to anyones arguments and instead just spout insults. It's a leftists moron's black hole, they just cant get out.

I'm certain you've got a bit confused somewhere.

You claim The Satanic Temple is a pagan organisation, however Satan is a product of the Lore of the Abrahamic religions, not paganism. It is, therefore, Christians who believe in Satan, not Pagans.

Indeed the Temple do not sincerely express belief in Satan, or any supernatural beings, at all. They are a pressure group dedicated to highlighting the unfairness of promoting one set of beliefs over another. They don't want a Satan club any more than they want a Jesus club or a Mohammed club, but if one exists then all have a right to.

Also, I don't agree that they are "grooming" anyone, at least no more than Christians do.

Indeed the Temple do not sincerely express belief

There's that lie, right on cue.

Sarcasm is only sarcasm when it is the opposite of what you normally do or belive. The teachings, lore, stories, and dogmas of your religion can not be sarcastic. When you do it all the time, say it all the time, preach it, and live it then it is not sarcasm.

That entire subversion of reality you just spouted is designed to get soft brain fools to literally worship satan, something they would normally not do, with the simple cognitive dissonance of pretending they aren't really worshiping satan. But you still use the imagery. You still speak the words. You literally do everything exactly how a believer would, and then comfort yourslef in the delusion that its just a prank bro.

I'm going to have to go with canbot on this one.

Nope, it's a set of beliefs based on dignity and reason. It is also used to limit Christianity's attacks on liberty, by utilising the rights they carve out for themselves that are offensive to thinking individuals to offend them.

They are manipulative liars, and you either fell for it or are a shill.

It's either them or you.

They also mock religions while being a religion and simply lie about what they are.

They do mock religions. It is legally important that they are a religion, and they do not claim not to be.

Then they use propaganda tactics like ad hominems to attack anyone who challenges them.

It's either them or you. Did you read your post before hitting "Save". Because there's an irony here, given the tone of your comment, that you have apparently missed.

This is a dispicable tactic that should be enough to reveal them as the bad guys, but unfortunately people are stupid and cant see through thier bullshit.

It is a despicable tactic. So stop it.

This problem is compunded by the fact that stupid people love to think they are smarter than others and the church of satan uses that by claiming that what the devil offers is true freedom and knowledge.

The Church of Satan are a different mob than the Satanic Temple.

You have a lot of trouble separating Christianity from its bad adherents.

[–]ActuallyNot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (18 children)

No, I'm looking at the overall effect of Christianity. And we'd be better off without it.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (17 children)

Those things will happen with or without Christianity.

The shame is poor for development and leads to the sexual abuse associated with the church. The externalization of blame allows evil people to act with less consequence on their position in society and alleviates guilt. The judgement of everything as either right or wrong leads modern witch trials against people who are different from them.

Christianity makes it worse. In some cases it causes them. Think of the satanic panic in 1980s, where good people had their lives destroyed. That would never have happened without Christianity.

They're plausibly building for a new one in the 2020s, if some of what I read on this site has depth of belief in the american bible belt.

It wouldn't have happened without Christianity? You clearly aren't aware of just how horrific ancient pre-Christian societies really were. Even the Romans' most favorite form of entertainment was watching people be tortured, and they took children to see that. And before that they were doing child sacrifice and all kinds of the most barbaric things you can imagine. The Old Testament as bad as it is was far ahead of its time.

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (14 children)

It wouldn't have happened without Christianity?

Obviously. People who don't have the delusion of the existence of Satan can't get satanic panic.

You clearly aren't aware of just how horrific ancient pre-Christian societies really were.

To state the obvious, I'm not suggesting the alternative is to revert to an ancient society.

They would just have a different panic. You clearly have an agenda against Christianity by scapegoating it for what are most obviously age-old problems of human nature.

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (12 children)

They would just have a different panic.

Okay. I find that very difficult to believe. How would you go about arguing for the plausibility of that?
