Canada's CBC just sucks so hard now.

Saw an article today from these fuckers entitled Halifax ranks worst in country for adequate housing for racialized people: StatsCan. Reading the article, it turns out that we have a lot of new 'racialized' (i.e. brown) immigrants. We also have a severe housing shortage that's affecting everyone, whether you've been here for your whole life or not. So of course, people who just got here are going to get hit the hardest, given that THEY JUST ARRIVED. But instead, CBC decides to go with a sleazy headline that suggests we're all a bunch of Missippi Burning redneck-ass motherfuckers because it's not a news organization anymore. Defund that fucking corp.

God yes! What you wrote is absolutely true. CBC is absolutely trying to slant this story as a racist issue that just does not exist. Anyone who has been to Canada knows the type of people that live there, especially on the east coast.

Rant:

I live in PEI and when I moved to the province I was working as a delivery driver. (I was 17 at the time) I broke down in the town of St.Peters. I had noticed a service station about a five min walk back so I left the van on the side of the road and walked to the station.

It was 7:30 in the morning and they didn't open until 8 so I walked back to my van only to find a truck had pulled over to help.

My hand to god, three men were already working on my van. One was under the vehicle, the other had somehow opened the hood and working on the engine while the third was holding a light.

They could tell from the "smell" that the alternator had seized. I don't know how they did it but on the side of the road they somehow bypassed the power steering and alternator and got me going again. They told me it would be enough to get me to Souris where I could get a replacement alternator.

Point of this story, they didn't give TWO SHITS about where I was from or the color of my skin. It never even entered their minds. They just did what they always had done, helped someone who needed a hand. That's the type of people that live in Canada.

I'm not going to pretend that there are zero racist people in Canada but they are far, FAR AND FEW in-between.

I feel like the Canadian media (especially CBC) have to go out of their way to find racist problems all while ignoring all the good that people do and the real issues that face this country. It's like they are trying to compete with the U.S. and prove that we are just as racist as everyone else!

I'm sure they get subsidies and will do just fine.

I've got no problem with immigrants per se. It's the politicians and newsies who move them around on the chessboard against everyone else who piss me off.
