So allowing moderators to have specific to community rules would ruin Saidit? As long as their rules are within reason the rules of communities are meant to guide the community and avoid un-wanted or repeated discussion.

Okay well look at s/unc0ver for example. It has rules that don't define off topic and could be broken while staying in "Good faith" and "On topic" so can I remove if they break the rules of the sub even if their still supposedly "On topic" and "In good faith"?
[–]OmegaUser296 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun - 1 year ago (0 children)
So if it is on topic and in good faith but breaks a rule of the sub we can't remove them? Then what is the point of individual sub rules.

Okay regardless of "In good faith & on topic" what about the individual sub rules? We're still allowed to ban based on those right?
Example: If a comment or something is in good faith and on topic but breaks a subs individual rules can they be removed?

I mean you are right that the limits are set pretty high as is.
I did the investigating and I found that the error is actually some drunken error with the code of the 3.5 version that my code is based on of the Reddit mod toolbox, I believe back porting a later version of the Module will fix it.
TL;DR: The Error looked like an API error but once I got the Network monitor open and debugger open it showed new things that caused me to notice it was in fact a problem with the code.
EDIT: In case I didn't make it clear you don't need to up your API rate limits anymore. It was just my code.

Hey so I was preforming some testing with the "Mod Matrix" which is a section that is meant to show a readout of all Moderators, their actions, and totals, and percentages.
I noticed a slight issue that once again is just API.
I think one last boost to those API limits will fix the remaining issues that are being experienced in this and other parts of the extension.
Yeah I'm saying "Open Pre-Release" Due to the fact that I want feedback on it aswell as I want to iron out the issues I myself discovered with it before any official launch.

[Update 8:35 AM] Based on a tweet by VideoLAN, VLC may not be as vulnerable as it initially appeared. VideoLAN says the “security issue” in VLC was caused by a third-party library called Libebml that was fixed 16 months ago, and that Mitre’s claim was based on a previous (and outdated) version of VLC.
[Update 10:30 AM] The VLC CVE on the National Vulnerability Database has now been updated, downgrading the severity of the issue from a Base Score of 9.8 (critical) to 5.5 (medium), with the change log also specifying that the “Victim must voluntarily interact with attack mechanism.”

I won't kill it, worst I will do is make it redirect to a more general skepticism sub.
Hence why as stated in the rest of this thread I will try to make sure discussion here doesn't get to (Pardon my language) fucked up in any way.
That's fine a little censorship won't hurt if it keeps the discussion good.
Although some users like JasonCarswelll might dislike the censorship that shouldn't become an issue as Censorship is needed to keep the site from becoming like Voat and if people like the censorship or not isn't your guys problem.
Okay understandable. I had only brought it up because many people here seem to be strictly against censorship and assume this site is also against it.
And yeah the problem is opening free speech commonly also opens the gate for Voat levels of toxicity and crazy shit or Reddit levels of censorship to try and stop the free speech from getting out of hand.
I personally don't mind a little censorship as long as we stay away from going to Reddit levels of it.
I understand how seriously you take it.
Although no offence wanting less subs of this type could be considered censorship by some people cough Jason carswell cough but I see the point in avoiding seeming to much like Voat.
And yeah it was the spam filter, I had meant to set posts and links but accidentally also set it for comments.
Trust me I understand your many concerns and I have seen what you mean with people trying to turn this into Voat and I don't want it either.
Also I think something is wrong with the Spam Filter. It has added your comments to Spam 3 times I keep having to approve them manually. I checked and it isn't automod or anything it seems.
Edit: I think I fixed the spam filter problem but reply to this just so I can check.
Comment ended up in spam again, I think I need to check the automod rules.
And I couldn't agree more, although I know Jason most likely won't let it die off but I do agree with all that you've stated.
But since it most likely won't die at least I can try to keep the conversation dual sided instead of just right wing like Voat mainly is.
I will try to let this sub come to it's natural death hopefully that won't be long. Heck I might just make it redirect to a general skepticism sub once it naturally calms down as that would be killing it but not making it a straight up killing of the sub.
for some reason your comment ended up in spam I don't know why. But anyways
If I didn't make this sub Jasoncarswell would have made it, he even said so. I understand you think it doesn't need it's own sub but JasonCarswell felt it did, I made it so that hopefully I can make sure JasonCarswell doesn't try to make claims about it without proper basis.
While I would rather these subs not exist as you would since this sub would have been made either way I felt that why not make it actually proper discussion of the topic instead of just treating it like truth and fact like JasonCarswell would have. In fact I intend this to allow both sides of discussion so it won't be one sided like Voat.
This is more for debate of the topic.
I made this sub only because I feel since it would have happened either way maybe I could have kept it from going downhill and make sure fair discussion can stay instead of treating "Holocaust never happened" as truth like JasonCarswell most likely would have.
[–]OmegaUser296[S] 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun - 1 year ago (0 children)
The problem was the moderator of s/Holocaust was turning it into an insult of a sub.
I personally don't believe the skepticism around the holocaust. I was only helping them by making a community that hopefully will actually not be killed off by it's own creator.
I also had made sure to remove it from r/all and other things to avoid it becoming the face of saidit in any way.
I understand all your concerns and if I see the sub getting out of hand or posting false information or anything trust me I will keep it in check.
Out right harassment of Jews will not be tolerated on the sub and claims without evidence won't either.
I only made it out of concerns that u/JasonCarswell had excersized for the s/Holocaust sub I personally don't believe their claims but I see a need for their beliefs to have a proper sub for it instead of s/Holocaust which was made in a mocking manner.

I'll send the Moderation invite since I forgot to do that already.
I personally don't lean one way or the other with the Holocaust's existence I acknowledge it happened but as you state the facts are fickle. I personally believe it happened but not at the magnitude that people state. No need to try and convince me as I won't listen to it as the Holocaust never happening is one theory I refuse to look into.
Go ahead and apply your CSS and make a Banner go ahead.
I have the sub set to be approved since it is a highly controversial topic so all posts/comments on it must be approved I'll try to stay upto date on that.
Subs that you moderate that I'd wanna help moderate:
/s/Voting_IsARiggedJoke/ - We all know shit can be rigged and people need to learn voting for elections isn't beyond rigging.
/s/canada - I am in fact Canadian (Insert Maple Syrup joke here) and it seems pretty conservative which fits my politics pretty well. Plus I need a place to post my Justin Trudeau Memes. Plus it seems the other moderators of it are active but not doing much with the sub so I'd try to fill in and help where needed.
Hey I uhhh sort of made that sub minutes before seeing this. Not cause I am one of those skeptics but just because I saw your (other post)[https://saidit.net/s/Holocaust/comments/tzh/open_letter_to_sholocaust/] and wanted to do it.
Ironically had the same name and all as the one you wanted to make.
Since I'm not actually one of the Holocaust skeptics and was just helping the situation would you like to help moderate it? You'd be in charge of most of the stuff and I'd just be there for general moderation.

You name it the Reddit admins manipulated the Databases to do it without traces.
Edit: As for waiting until now they haven't, they just wanted to wait for a hole, the first threat wasn't the Admins and then the others were, the Admins waited for one that got deleted, they undeleted that one, then replied and rallied the violence themselves, in turn making it look like the Mods were doing nothing and make it look like there were more users advocating violence then there actually was.
I also heard that those few dozen accounts may have been the Reddit Admins themselves as they've done it in the past it wouldn't be a surprise if they did it again.

I know I am having those ones redirect here until their communities grow enough to warrant having individual subs for each smaller topic.
Edit: More thorough description of my Motives for those who care
I made a lot of more specific jailbreaking subs. Until their presence grows on s/Jailbreak enough to warrant a separate sub all of those communities are to post here. I made the others redirect here so that I can gauge the reaction here. Once the community for say iOS Jailbreaking grows to a high enough amount they will be moved into their own sub (s/iOSJailbreaking)
Unreliable but useful exploit in iOS 12 found, usable in a jailbreak but it would be very unstable. Even worse then Electra at launch level of unreliable.

Also this is interesting, I'd love to jailbreak my Alexa.
Maybe make it easier to dick around with it and make it somehow make it play audio from spotify or something by default instead of having to state it every time. It get's annoying to have to state "Play ____, FROM SPOTIFY" just because they make it always try to play from Amazon Music by default which they made separate from Amazon Prime awhile ago which made me not wanna deal with paying for ANOTHER amazon service.
I'd Point out that the Sidebar says iOS Jailbreak but then I remembered that I forgot to change that.
Until this sub becomes large enough this sub will encompass any and all Jailbreaking. I will update the Sidebar to reflect as much.
TL;DR this post is allowed as this is a general Jailbreaking sub, not just iOS.

I understand and u/JasonCarswell (I pinged because I want you to know) if your willing to once the right users come along and this site grows give those subs to other users, then your doing nothing wrong.
I'd only used you as an example due to your high Sub count I understand your not Hoarding for personal gain.
Edit: Improved content and Format
Okay I'm not trying to personally attack you, your just an example because you own a high amount of subs without any intent to stop.
DM = Direct Message
And all I'm saying is that there should be a hard limit of subs per user of ~50 or something so no one person can mod to much of the subs and in turn not have to much control over the narratives.
Okay using yo as an example (sorry) Most of them would be empty without you falsely filling them, without your posts most of your subs would be empty or near it.
Because if someone has say over 50 subs there is no way in heck their actually continuing to moderate each sub and sure as heck won't be able to give much individual attention to each sub.
[Question] How do I move the body section down?
1 year ago by OmegaUser296 to /s/SaiditCSSthemes from self.SaiditCSSthemes
I hope a limit get's added, I say 50 that way people can still moderate a lot of subs but not hoard them.
I understand all of that but if your there to help with the CSS and not the moderation then leaving the subs after awhile would be a good course of action that way it dosen't seem like your sub hoarding.
I am not trying to limit opinions or anything I only stated that due to a DM where you stated you would prefer more subs over credit which made it seem like your intent was partly to hoard subs, I am sorrry if that wasn't your intent in any way I had misunderstood.
