Misleading.

This is not news. A charity can give to their causes, and in any event, ANYONE who qualifies for welfare food assistance can get $850/month in many states, if not in all states.

Remember when fascists cried about an NYC welfare program several months ago, involving the use of plastic cards for welfare food money? This is the same whining about welfare programs. Might as well whine about poor people in all US states, or all over the world.

(Also - what happens in Georgia is not 'world news'.)

This is not news. ANYONE who qualifies for welfare food assistance can get $850/month in many states, if not in all states.

This claim is unsubstantiated, and unrelated to the basic income program.

SNAP is federally funded, and available in all states. It's easy to look this up. You too can qualify for $850/month. You might have to give birth to a 2 or 3 children. If you live in Georgia, apply here: https://dfcs.georgia.gov/snap-food-stamps

You can also form a charity and give that money anyone that charity chooses.

If that is available to everyone then that's fine. If it is doled out based on sex or race it is illegal.

Basic income is better than the thousands of welfare programs that we have. They should all be consolidated into one basic income. It should not be taken away when people find work.

If it stops them having kids for welfare, great, but we all know that's not going to happen. And wtf is $850 going to do? They're all likely on some form of assistance anyway, what will this accomplish but give them disposable income to buy crap they don't need anyway. I'm not against an economic safety net if applied appropriately (just pay their rent for x months or give them food, shelter, clothing not money and put limits on that), but this won't accomplish a thing.

Exactly, a lot of what's happening in this thread is a rudimentary version of "There's already programs duh!"

Well no shit, this is in addition to other programs if you're a black woman.

I don't think anyone here needs educated on the fact safety net programs exist.

As for the stats, you know damn well those people didn't answer those questions correctly. They bought shit they don't need, just like the Takis they buy at 2 in the morning with their SNAP card.
