trans animality (therian/otherkin/similar) is no less valid than transgender identity.

I totally agree. Both identities are equally valid. In the same way steak and pork are equally vegetarian.

It's also a good reminder of how (and where) all the stupid-ass genderwoo got started, when basic, bland-as-unflavored-oatmeal people on Tumblr were looking for something to make them more special than everyone else.

My familiarity with otherkin from the old days is the only reason I entertain the idea this isn't a troll. It sounds so much like one, but I remember how wild that stuff sometimes was.
