There’s so much retardation around HIV, sexually transmitted infections and gay men that this shit doesn’t surprise me.

In fact I bet, I fucking bet, that the manufacturer of PrEP is behind this because it would be a major sales driver if you stigmatise checking whether your potential partner is HIV+.

The manufacturers of PrEP funded all the HIV charities in the UK and subsequently they all campaigned for PrEP to be given out on the NHS. Let that sink in, the all campaigned for tax money to be used so gay dudes could have promiscuous unsafe sex (and then everyone was pikachu-faced when rates of gonorrhoea and syphilis went through the roof and Monkeypox ran wild).

It's really stupid, this PSA goes along how most of them do "don't ask about AIDS it hurts my fee fees"

Like why the fuck would you care about hurting the feelings of someone who is going to infect you with a pretty serious disease? The real "dick" move is anyone who knows they have HIV going around spreading it to unknowing people.

I'd just fucking ask anyway and if someone gets mad and calls you mean for asking you know for sure they either have HIV or will soon get it because they are retarded.

That's a good point about pharma but it only explains the public advertising part. The oldest argument I can remember was around 2000-2005 with some self described HIV advocate who argued against the concept of criminally charging people who knowingly have HIV but hide it from partners. I thought it was going to be "criminalization is too much" but nooo that person went all the way to the person should never need to tell anyone.

The argument was that requiring disclosure of HIV status would cause people to stop getting tested because they could get away with plausible deniability of not knowing since the criminality was centered around knowingly transmitting.

The thing that gets me about that PrEP stuff is that everyone is acting like it's a surefire, never-fail, silver bullet treatment. We can't even get contraceptives that are 100% all the time--and we're a damned sight more experienced there--but you're going act like this shit has absolutely no chance of ever not working and just go raw with no further consideration?

It’s 99% effective at preventing sexual transmission of HIV, which is good enough apparently for people to raw dog it at orgies.

Chemsex, unchecked promiscuity, orgies and PrEP were the unspoken reasons why Monkeypox was a problem. And at the height of the Monkeypox outbreak they were worried about stigmatising gays and people thinking the name of the virus was racist. At no point did any public health organisation just tell the gays to knock the random hookups on the head for six months, they even tried to hide how it was spreading only amongst the gay community and that it was spreading primarily through sex (never forget the medical journal article claiming sore dicks and swollen anuses were new monkeypox symptoms, never forget).

The establishment has become so afraid of offending particular minorities that they will actively cover shit up even when the cover ups are 100% retarded, and worse still, the media is 100% on board with it.

Monkeypox, that's one I haven't heard of in awhile. The various media outlets really did an outstanding job of burying that, didn't they? While at the same time pounding the Covid drum nice and hard, of course.

Disappeared pretty quickly after it became too obvious that it was only transmitted by gay sex, and the awkward cases where pets and kids were getting it.

Honestly, it could just as likely be the natural crossing point of queer theory and the highschoolization of society, both meeting at the "the only people it's okay to shame about sex are the ugly losers who can't get any". After all, someone having HIV+ or MonkeyPox doesn't have some vicious fatal disease, it's proof they're a sexual dynamo who's so desired they fuck before and probably will fuck you so good it's worth dying over!
