"When someone says they’re trans, it usually means something else is badly wrong in their life"

"Carving out the shaft of my penis and inverting my penis skin and suturing it to my cored out pelvis solved all of my problems."

All of me flinched at that. No one who wants that done to them is of sound body and mind. That sounds like something 731 experiment that civilized society would consider a horrific medical torture method…

"But it actually didn't, because now I smell like poop all the time, and I have to keep forcing this wound to stay open, and it needs constant cleaning, and it doesn't actually feel like much of anything when I try to have sex, and these hormones are messing me up inside, and nobody really sees me as a woman but just a broken and mental ill man, and I just wish my life weren't so fucked up and I'm gonna end it all right now." -Fine print of the Official Trans Battle Cry

"But it actually didn't..."

Anti-trans propaganda. KILL THE BETRAYER?

I have known a lot of gay people and not one of them has a happy life.

I know a few happy gay people. I don't know any happy trans people though. They can't even accept their own bodies.

I know happy people from both camps, though the happiest trans people I know are pretty angry about the trans rights movement.

The happiest trans people I know accept reality and see their surgeries for what they are, cosmetic. They know they are not really the opposite sex but rather simply choose to adopt the opposite gender as they feel it's a better fit for them. Imo I would support that.

If a male friend wants to be treated like a woman, I would make an effort. He would need to be patient because I might not see him that way, but I would make an effort.

If he starts talking about misgendering being hate speech though, we are no longer friends. Me referring to you the way you want is a privilege born out of earned respect, I don't need much respect but there is a minimum. Roughly the same level as me calling you by a preferred nickname instead of just whatever comes to mind. If I don't respect you, I will call you an asshole or a dick or I might misgender you whether you are trans or not. I have called many a cic-hetero friend miss or lady or whatever when I am ripping on them. The fact you are mentally disturbed or delusional doesn't necessarily excuse you.

This gender vs. sex concept is nonsense. Sex is simply a fact of life. One of many. A fact.

In this example, accommodating a fantasy isn't a respectful act.

It's similar to cheering on a friend with a gambling addiction. It doesn't actually improve the root cause of the issue.

A man who wants to be a woman ultimately wants to engage in activities that only women can experience.

It's not possible with male parts.

It's not possible with surgically adjusted male parts.

They need to create a new word for what they can actually be.

Pretending it's plausible is a disservice to everyone.

I get where you are coming from, however I definitely think there is validity in fine tuning distinctions and precision in language.

In my opinion one thing the TRAs won't admit that is ironically crux to their entire argument is that gender is still BASED on sex.

In my opinion, gender is a set of conventions, protocols, and behaviors evolved to be optimal for a given sex.

So it's kind of like software vs hardware. You can run OSX on PC, but it won't run optimally, you will run into some compatibility issues and lose key functionality of the software. Hell nothing is even stopping you from trying to create your own O.S. But it sure isn't going to be as fully developed and thought out as the main ones.

That's the distinction between sex and gender imo.

In my opinion, gender is a set of conventions, protocols, and behaviors evolved to be optimal for a given sex.

Gender was made up by a pedo named Dr John Money to convolute a binary set of sex.

Sex is precise language.

I know some pretty content gay people, but these are old school gay people - the kind who just want to get on with their lives and want to have sex with people of the same gender, not the modern, outrageous hair dye, arseless chap parade, post on Twitter every 5 minutes about how hard it is to be gay kind.

Neither do most straight people.

The overwhelming majority of straight people I know accept their own bodies.

[–]artetolife 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

So do gay people. And most of the troons discussed here are hetero, in case that's your angle.

They may be hetero, but I wouldn't call them straight.

I love how this kind of talk is getting normalized. Is the media and social media going to censor presidential candidate quotes?

[–]cephyrious 10 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 0 fun11 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Well, YouTube took down Jordan Peterson's talk with Robert Kennedy, so... yes?

[–]iamonlyoneman 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

no but he might catch an indictment for it

[–]QueenBread 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You don't say? I was pretty sure that it's normal to want to surgically alter your body because you are absolutely convinced you should be of the opposite sex. But let's face it. The real issue is 1) incels using this to harass women; 2) dumb girls using this to de-sexualize themselves. Most 1, however, because 2 only harm themselves.

[–]UncleWillard56 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yep. I wonder if there are any studies that dig into what life is like for the kids who suddenly identify as trans/non-binary (or otherkin and the myriad neo-pronouns). I'll bet what you'll see are kids who are not successful in school, sports, or society in general. They're kids who have always been told they're special, little flowers, but who eventually realize that they are not even close to being so special in the reality of society. These fringe groups tend to appeal to them because they accept anyone who drinks their kool-aid.

"We're not gonna change the way we indoctrinate our children"

Little Freudian slip there, it seems

They majority of trans have a cluster b personality disorder.

So yes, usually.

[–]iamonlyoneman 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

nobody without something else bad wrong is trans, comrade!

That's a completely different thing and you know it.

It's . . . the topic of discussion though (?)
