It was incredibly detrimental to myself and other trans lesbian wormkin sex workers. It is an indiscriminate attack on our perceived femininity by the cis heteronormatively neurotypicalistic bioessentialist patriarchy. The aggressively dogmatic attempts to systemically oppress us and other marginalized communities is an obvious attack on queer identity at the expense of the suffering trans folx.

By literally commiting genocide against the most vulnerable individuals such as myself they are directly playing into the hands of the tyrannically capitalistic neo fascistic western oligarchy. The constant relentless assault on innocent beings is maddening.

We need to come together to fight back against the harm inflicted on us through traumatic actions directed at us. We need to secure the existence of the gay race and a future for trans babies. Only then will we live in a world where we are safe.

But in order to achieve our glorious utopia of equality and freedom I believe we need to peacefully eradicate porn in the most covertly overt way because if I cant get naked for people and do gross things with a ping pong ball and post it all over tumblr then no one else should be able to ever at all again. we must retroactively punish those unclean degenerates who participate in indecent acts on camera.

But before we can do this i need you all to be better, educate yourselves and submit to our whims. Or else I will be forced to proactively act in self defense when you aren't paying attention.

People go to college to learn how to write like this, and most fail to do so.

Indifferent. Although, it did open the gates for the tumblr users to start invading other places with their absurd shit. At least, when tumblr was like it used to be, they were all in one place.

True, this nonsensical BS was a lot more manageable when it was relegated to tumblr. What a poisonous website, but at least back then the poison was contained.

Funny how they spread out the moment Tumblr banned porn. Weird, huh, I thought they hated pornography with all their talk of oppression, and trafficking, and misogyny. Really gets the ol' noggin' joggin'.

Mildly disappointed. I liked tormenting my friends with the awful fetish art illustrations I'd stumble upon by clicking on the URLs of people on popular posts.

It's not right that entire generations will grow up not knowing the fear of being visually ambushed by Tumblr gorn.

Holy shit, I'm not the only one who does this! Not specifically on Tumblr, but sharing cringey fetish art to sadomasochistically spread the cringe around was one of my favorite roles in a group chat I was in for a few years. Giantess Sandy Cheeks sucking up cars through her dick was by far my favorite.

Amused. It was obvious why they were doing it--trying to attract money, either via advertising or investment, I'm not sure; I've heard variously that it was both--and equally obvious that it was the site's effective death sentence the moment that they did it.

The other possibility is the owners didn't want to go to prison for hosting child porn.

I am fairly certain tumblr banned porn because if they didn't, the app wouldn't be allowed in the Apple store. Which makes no sense, because twitter allows porn and... the app is allowed on the apple store? Idk the whole thing is just bizarre.

I think it's similar to what happened to Pornhub. They were going to risk not only losing advertising but also getting their bank accounts suspended due to these companies not wanting to associate with and potentially land in legal trouble with what is the very real issues of laws that govern adult content which differ from state to state but from country to country as well. It's very complex. And if they aren't very careful about restricting what is and isn't allowed the legal and social fallout from that will utterly destroy their business.

Pornhub is a porn site so obviously can't ban porn. So severely restricting uploads was their only option. Tumblr isn't a porn site and probably just found it easier to ban it outright rather than deal with managing it. It also does make it easier for them to expand if they limit adult content.

I think it's worth mentioning that the rules on what does and does not constitute legal porn varies wildly from country to country. Sometimes it's outright banned, sometimes only certain types of porn are banned. Some don't differentiate between photography and drawn art, others do. It's very very difficult to operate any sort of adult oriented business that is going to be operating in multiple countries. You might run afoul of prostitution laws. Etc. It's a huge quagmire and I think nobody in their right mind would ever want to deal with it.

Don't you remember those cases from years back where Canadians were getting arrested for bringing in manga porn they bought legally in Japan. You don't ever want to take adult material across international borders if you aren't absolute 100% sure you know exactly what you are doing, what does the internet do? It distributes it across national boarders easily. It's a quagmire nobody in their right mind would dare touch unless their whole business was that.

I enjoyed watching the meltdown, but too bad it made tumblr users infect other sites faster.

I wasn't pleased with it. Many arts I liked that were there and - far as I know - nowhere else, that I, being the dumb idiot I am, didn't save, became either much harder to find (can't search on a blog that's only viewable as a sidebar) or impossible to find because the posts containing them were hidden. Plus I generally don't like it when things change in a way that doesn't benefit me. Porn ban does not benefit me, even if it also does not harm me.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

Holy shit, imagine unironically enjoying tumblr porn.

I pity you.

[–]Curious_Illithidshitlordnugget 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Only the kind where characters look like themselves and aren't drawn in that classic tumblr "triangle red nose, acid colors, looks fat even if not actually fat, "it's muh style, not just me having hands growing out of my ass HOW DARE YOU"" way (ones who draw like THAT I block). So, it's more like "it's porn and it's posted on tumblr" rather than "yep, that's tumblr porn all right".

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

But why tumblr? I'm sure there's much better sites that host erotic art, why even bother with frikking dumblr that's plagued with wokies and trannies?

[–]Curious_Illithidshitlordnugget 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Because I'm mainly interested in porn arts (and non-porn ones, too) that are not of some original characters, but of ones from whatever anime I'm watching, or whatever game I'm playing at the moment. And I tend to mostly like (and therefore want to see pornographic arts of) characters that aren't exactly popular, so it's either "find a random tumblr artist with the same shit taste in fictional characters as me and enough skill and acceptance of the character just the way that character is to produce something I can enjoy", "stare at the same 2-3 works found elsewhere FOREVER because nothing new is going to happen. Ever. The fandom died years ago and only few people haven't got the memo and keep contributing. And they happen to be on tumblr" or "learn to draw well enough that my works would match my standards" (and that last one is not an option. I'm not staying in the same fandom for, like, 10 years it'd take my skills to match my preferences).

So, Tumblr it is. And yes, the block list of the account I had pre-purge contained mostly the shit artists and ones (regardless of skill and art style) who felt like slapping a cunt and the stitches on every canonically-male character they laid their eyes on (now it's mostly just shit artists), but after I blocked all that displeased me what was left was pretty good, actually.

First i laughed my ass off, because it made the woke coomers extremaly mad, then despair because literally all of them migrated to Twitter instead :c

[–]FlyingKangaroo 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

At that time I was yet on Tumblr (my very last months) with my aesthetics blog. I was indifferent, maybe glad somehow. I hoped it will stop random porn bot accounts from following me, spamming etc.

I was also amused because the algorithm was so bad it hide random harmless stuff (for example: a photo of plant, dinosaur figure, photo of food) as porn. Many people complained about it.

In the end, I decided to leave Tumblr because I felt that the better parts of it were too much time-consuming and yet there was a big part of that website I hated (the queer stuff, etc.). I was probably finally infuriated by something related to it, people praising porn or some casual LGBTQ idiocy, so I left this trash site.
