I remember that Ursula and Divine connection, it’s hard for me to judge if at each case someone really wanted to make them (the characters) gay coded or just wanted to give them specific traits, much different from the protagonists, the good characters etc... I wonder to what extent it was any real coding or just stereotypes.

Because when I was reading various threads about gay-coded characters I had this thought: “ok, maybe some LGBs act like that but not all” and it’s sexist to claim that because a character has specific mannerism, they must be gay. Maybe that’s also due to different reception of overlooking of that theme (if it really exists) in my country. For example I personally never saw Scar as gay and I don’t know a person who did. But that might be because people in America had more associations for that.

So, I’m skeptical. It’s an interesting topic but as I said, what is real intended “coding” and what is an afterthought by people who support or oppose LGB?

My dislike for the acceptance of coding as a real thing also comes from examples like a blog post I saw a few years ago. Someone read an older novel and claimed some man there was gay because he didn’t like sports, was a bit of a shy nerd, not conforming to the stereotypical tough masculinity, etc. Incredibly sexist. Although maybe that case was more of putting sort of self canons (fandom style).

[–]FlyingKangaroo 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I think it did, in a way. Of course I can’t grasp it fully as it is in the US (I live in different country) but looking through Twitter I noticed (in 2020 especially) many teenagers who said they come out with new gender/orientation because supposedly in lockdown they had more time for it, wanted some change etc.

You’d literally see challenges like “retweet this with your picrews of you in 2019 and 2020” and the 2020 selves suddenly had dangerhair, pride pin badges, pride flags background (if available in picrew), were much uglier, etc.

I felt it’s both sad and cringe, young people grooming out because they treat it almost as an aesthetic (even if the won’t admit to that) or because they live in shitty families which might be wealthy but don’t give them proper attention, etc.

I don’t even want to think how schools in my country treat it. Some probably don’t have a clue their students want to be trans. Some might have. I read a few days ago a funny comment about a student who was genderfluid and whined about having to do something on the board (during a lesson) and the teacher would call them wrong names because in one moment there should be a female name and in another one male etc. I don’t know the real sex of that person.

how did you nibbas feel when tumblr banned porn by yelgy in TumblrInAction

[–]FlyingKangaroo 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

At that time I was yet on Tumblr (my very last months) with my aesthetics blog. I was indifferent, maybe glad somehow. I hoped it will stop random porn bot accounts from following me, spamming etc.

I was also amused because the algorithm was so bad it hide random harmless stuff (for example: a photo of plant, dinosaur figure, photo of food) as porn. Many people complained about it.

In the end, I decided to leave Tumblr because I felt that the better parts of it were too much time-consuming and yet there was a big part of that website I hated (the queer stuff, etc.). I was probably finally infuriated by something related to it, people praising porn or some casual LGBTQ idiocy, so I left this trash site.

I also know that many LGB(T) people enjoyed both the book and the film - there were many too who didn’t. They’re divided after all. A superficial look makes me feel this book is very popular (due to award maybe, movie, themes...) but you’ll also find LGB(T) people calling author a creep and wanting people to not read or watch this due to this connotation.

I also know there are various spicy straights or real hetero women (but acting creepy) out there who fawn over this story.

You put it very well. I had a misfortune of getting a cross a few yaoi fangirls in my life - they loved it out online but I don’t know if they ever discussed the dynamics of that genre and who’s the audience.

I was also wondering if there’s another factor to it (beside casual porn brain): some women buy into propaganda that hetero relationships are more abusive from their sole nature, that heterosexual pairs are highly sexualized, “bland”, belong to the “problematic” world etc. ... So they assume gays are pure cinnamon rolls who need to be protected and fangirls over. Just like some women fetishize sexual abuse in fiction if the perpetrator is portrayed as an attractive chad, others fetishize abuse in gay fiction or just the homosexuality itself in general - as being something better and more “interesting” than hetero characters and people. That being said, one of the yaoi fans I came across was a lesbian herself, other wasn’t but later trooned out to FtM. There is this whole correlation among some trans people, mostly FtM and non-binaries who started as yaoi fangirls.

Same, I thought YA was cringe on its own but then it got fusion with the queers.

It comes from some interview with author (however, it’s in Spanish): https://www.ecartelera.com/noticias/entrevista-andre-aciman-call-me-by-your-name-54563/

People discussing it on some forum (I don’t know this forum but it contains English translation of the interview fragment): https://gagadaily.com/forums/topic/307200-cmbyn-author-admits-to-pedophilic-ideations/

The other day I was talking with a friend of mine, I said to him ‘I look at 12 year old girls and I find them very attractive’, and he said to me, ‘me too, but you can’t speak of it’. And I responded, ‘no, never’. Because if you think of it you’re almost guilty of it. I don’t commit the act, but you don’t have an idea of the rugged and disgusting things that go through everyone’s minds. - Andre Aciman

Actually, even a few woke people wrote about being disgusted by him on Twitter, like here: https://twitter.com/clowlwn/status/1365016781400678401 However, it’s still a minority within minority and his novel is still kind of popular - thanks to the movie and appeal of gays to many women.

Sometimes I engage in discussions providing arguments against SJWs, online and offline whenever it’s happening in my group (for example: once during a lecture, it became a topic that arose in certain discussion). I also stand against them in conversations with people I know in case any explanation is needed (mostly online, offline such situations rarely happen).

Thanks to Tumblr idiots I became kind of disgusted by the word “asexual” (because of the current LGBTQ associations) but this is true: some people don’t wish to participate in any sexual activity and that’s ok. I think in comparison to all other orientations (supposing it should be viewed as such - personally I’m skeptical) they’re the least problematic, in the orignal meaning of the term “asexual” of course.

SJW braindeads created a community which is infested with people who confuse the genuine lack of sexual needs with trauma response or people who claim they’re asexual because they don’t think about sex 24/7.

I find it very sad how asexuality is perceived thanks to LGBTQ, how it’s reinvented to fit the woke norms and how there is growing acceptance for loud mouth idiots as you call them (rightly so).

Edit: they also don’t need any pretentious symbols or flags that orientations have. Representation bullshit.

It’s interesting. I hope this comparison helped you; it’s good you got to talk about it without being shamed for your views.

Yes, I did; in fact these were two closest friends I had at that time. Funnily, they cut contact with me almost for no reason at all - just stopping all contact one day and only messaging me back when I was worried they’re not active anymore in spaces where we chatted (they also happen to live in same city but I luckily I don’t meet them anymore). Out of the blue, they decided not to hang out anymore with me because apparently to them I was a prude and a bigot, even though I never did anything against them. When it happened I was sad over such bizarre happenings but later I realized it was actually better to me to lose contact with them. I go on very well.

I also knew some other people who became woke and lost contact with them too, but out ends of contact weren’t as dramatic as that; just fading out because everyone went their own way. In one case I had some quarrel with a girl who became a trans man (only knew her online due to shared hobby). And it was she that began the quarrel - just because she learned I talked to our other friend who was disappointed because the girl-trans man treated her badly (nothing to do with woke stuff, it was before her coming out). The trans-to-be one was angry at me for daring to criticize her in a conversation she didn’t even participate in. Acted quite angry and childish. We resolved this somehow but more time later our friendship naturally loosened and after even a longer time K saw she suddenly calls herself a man.

I agree with you a lot. At some point you got to see they were never as good friends as you thought before. I don’t even need to recall the times when everything was good and they weren’t infected by wholeness yet - it just doesn’t matter anymore as I have other things to enjoy in life.

The times might be dark, more in some countries than the others, but I know there’s hope. There can be still resistance to REAL abuse and oppression and brainwashing.

I am myself an example of it, I used to support some of woke views (even though I was never as rad as others, I maintained some of my common sense but I’m still deeply ashamed of these few years) and I changed. I understood that various things I used to support (and my ex-friends supported) are actually harmful and go against my other values in life. Furthermore, they often cover real problems. It’s like caring about petty (but dangerous as well) stuff while letting go some serious wounds untreated. But we all deserve a healing.

No surprise. They deny to see men as people. For them, men can be only agents of evil, cis-hetero-patriarchal society and therefore can’t grasp any good ideas or feelings. [–]FlyingKangaroo 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

First quick thought: both are bad.

Second though: the troons are bad on their own but they’re a very small minority; the enablers allowed them to become a bigger force. Without them, we probably wouldn’t have all these cursed things that are happening.

It’s one thing when a person (troon) is already deranged/perverted or it’s someone traumatized with a massive victim complex. But it’s the other thing when another person, even not belonging to troon’s family/friend group starts advocating for them. It shows how some people are likely to support them in favors of considering oneself “on the right side of history”, “fighting nazis” and so on.

Part of me wonders whether the enablers are crazy in some other ways (which they don’t want to acknowledge) or whether they’re just so brainwashed they don’t question it. Then there is a difference between the possible social impact of random people being enablers and some celebrities, influential figures, political parties, groups of interest etc. Casual lobbying, which can be used for various purposes, but becomes very sinister in the case discussed here.

It’s both the awful ideology and dynamics of social relationships. For example, friends of troons might often get the feeling of fear that they’re not good allies enough, that they shouldn’t do anything wrong or else they will be guilty of troon’s death, etc.

[–]FlyingKangaroo 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes, that word was Polish. Just a translation of “genderism”.

In addition, there are “Twitter Julias” (twitterowe Julki; plural of Julia, name given to many girls and popular in some young generations; denotes wokeism trends prevalent on Twitter etc.)

I also think “groomer” is slowly getting more popular there, as well as “lefties” (this can be used for any far-left individuals; or even by hardcore conservatives who don’t like anyone leaning to left in any way). However, “lefties” (lewaki) is used to call really crazy groups.

There are also classic words from English like feminazi, political correctness as a way to describe something etc.
