Some people seem to only exists to make us ask: "Why??"

What happens to a brain to make a person hear: "We have a promotion for two of these items at the moment, so it's only $8" and the neurons lighting up, passing information back and forth and coming to the conclusion: Get your gun and smoke this mother fucker! How dare he!?

This has to be someone having some psychotic episode.

I assume that could be the case, but I've also seen videos of people shooting each other over not getting the hamburger they wanted. At what stage do we draw a line in the sand and say: "This is an episode of mental illness. This, on the other hand, is someone not fit to live in society."?

Even an expert wouldn't diagnose a mental illness from a video of a patient they haven't examined.

But that's my guess.

A problem with mental illness is that during an episode you may well be not fit to life in society. But it's not obvious what the most cost-effective way to deal with it is. You need close monitoring. It's possible that AI will soon be able to notify family or authorities that the patient needs intervention, but that the moment, everything's expensive.

I understand that, and agree with most of it. I just want to clarify to make sure we're on the same page. What I meant was -

Some people have an episode and need help. Nine times out of ten they would agree that pulling a gun over getting a discount at their fast food chain is wrong.
Some people don't consider it a moral issue to shoot someone over getting the wrong burger. Full stop. That's their moral compass.

The second one might well be considered mental illness, but it's not an episode. It's their life. Those people can't be trusted to buy a hamburger in the modern world out of fear that might find the process, somehow, insulting and consider the insult to be worth taking a human life. The first step is to differentiate between them.

Yeah, I agree with that.

Should have smoked that mofo on the spot he is dangerous as hell to the public. I don't care what he was going through all he has to do is pull the trigger and you are gone. This is why working fast food you carry a gun a small .22 works just fine. If somebody is that mad and they are walking up on you just put your hand in your pocket click the safety off and be prepared to defend yourself if nothing goes down well then you are good if a gun comes out do not hesitate just defend yourself you don't even have to pull it just shoot through your pocket lol Stay Safe!!
