I was in elementary school and learned about homosexual relationships 20 years ago.

Kids really don’t need to learn about "gender presentation" in SEX ed.

Also, imagine how odd it is to teach sex ed nowadays? "Anybody can have a penis or a vagina and get pregnant! Moving on, let’s talk about liking trucks and dresses! Which gender do YOU feel like?"

"Let's watch this educational video from the BBC which talks about all of the hundred possible genders."

They really do just piggyback on the gay movement. In one of the first lessons of sex ed I had in middle school we were told that when we hit puberty we might find ourselves attracted to the same sex instead of the opposite, and that it was totally fine. Later on we were reminded that gay men were more at risk than anyone else of contracting HIV so we'd need to be more careful. This is stuff we should be taught.

But trans issues and gender identities are different. Imagine taking a group of kids who are beginning to go through puberty, still figuring out who they are, and telling them that if they don't feel right in their body or don't conform to gender stereotypes, then they might not be a real boy or girl after all and could be trans. The teacher wouldn't even be able to define what it means to feel like a boy/girl, but would still have to teach it.

This is what makes me mad whenever homosexuality and trans issues are lumped together. No, genuine concerns about transing children are not jUsT rEdReSsEd HoMoPhObIa and teaching kids that it's ok to be gay is not the same thing as telling them they might be living in the wrong body.

Love that "the trans community" is just lumped in with homosexuality as if they are one and the same.

Also, notice how trans people are allowed to have a "trans community" yet we aren't allowed to have a "LGB community". They literally say there talk about homosexuality or teach about the trans community. I bet that if it was written the opposite like : "teach about transgenderism or teach about the LGB community" it would have had lots of backlash. Double standards

Yup. Double standards, indeed. Sometimes I wonder though when they say "LGBTQ+" they actually just mean trans community. Gotta invoke the "LGB" part so the people wondering what TQ+ is all about will actually take you seriously...

Not gonna lie, I would get a sick pleasure out of seeing the abstinence-only sex-ed programs trying to figure out how to teach children to be trans.

When my teacher recently kept saying "men" when she was talking about penises and vice versa I corrected her in the private chat, but she just said "the district doesn't let us talk about that" and "thank you for private messaging me"

Is it really that big of a problem to use terms that apply perfectly to 99.6% of the population? There's no confusion, you know exactly what the teacher meant.

The woke crowd gets off on correcting people. I'm being unironic. I wouldn't be surprised it it truly was a fetish and a power thing for many of them.

I'd be interested to know u/OPPRESSED_REPTILIAN's views on that, considering that the same standard could be applied to overlook intersex people--or even LG or LGB people, for that matter, depending on what the threshold for inclusion is.

Big Pharma and the Medical Industrial Complex.

No, really.

Transitioning is soon going to be a billion plus dollar industry. I just saw the actual figures and will try to find the article and post.

I saw it within the last few days, but can't find it now. I'm trying to think back to where I saw it. Will post if I find it.

I'm so glad I don't have kids. Feel bad for parents in the current atmosphere
