I'm a homosexual & I'm always offensive, apparently (Also homophobic. But hold up. If "homosexual" is an offensive word, surely "homophobic" must also be super duper offensive? Does it need to be changed to "gayphobic"?)

The word you're looking for is queerphobic, to be more inclusive in your accusations of phobia. Gay is exclusionary and highly offensive. /s

Lol I was called queerphobic on reddit once and I asked for a definition and they got indignant and said something snarky. I clarified that I’m gay and I wanted to know what THEY meant when they clearly weren’t gay. This utter hetero thought I was a gay man and went on a rant about privileged cis white gay men, and refused to define what queerphobia is.

Why are they so afraid of definitions? Like can you imagine if in the gay rights movement we never defined ourselves or said which rights we wanted?

The fun part is that they're allowed to assume you're cis, white and straight, but you could be cis, black and gay. If they're wrong, they get off scot free somehow, but god help you if they deem you X-phobic.

They're afraid of definition because then they have to justify a lot of things, namely behaviour, and how they're marginalised, when it's clear that they're not in any way. For example, when someone calls themselves queer, they can pretty much continue living as they've always lived without changing a thing. That's why a ton of straight people come out as queer, because they always bank on the fact that their straight relationship will be assumed to be a straight passing bisexual one rather than what it truly is.

It also allows them to join any marginalised group and get a piece of oppression pie (as if being a minority is a good thing) without experiencing actual oppression. In turn, they get any benefits and protections the minority group have been granted as recompense for decades and centuries of oppression and suppression against them; see grants, literary awards, university scholarships, political positions, etc. They have all to gain and nothing to lose by having vague definitions.

I think the main issue lies in them making previously definite and clear definitions muddier with their gender identity politics. For example, saying you're in a lesbian relationship these days doesn't mean you can't be pregnant from PIV intercourse.

That makes sense. Homosexuals were defined long before we started fighting for our rights. And the rights we were after were rights that straight people enjoyed that were denied to us, which made it easy to identify them. The remaining issues that we wanted written into law were protections, since there was a legitimate bias in many places that warranted protection from discrimination.

Everything T and onward, however, has no framework. There are a few issues that they could grab onto without inventing, like men not being allowed in women's restrooms, but after that, there was nothing concrete that they wanted, so there was no reason to make themselves concrete. The "rights" that they are after are not rights that they are denied but cis people enjoy, they are privileges that would be exclusive to them, so any real definition could only hurt them. By keeping things stupid, they can change anything they want at any time when it is convenient to them, like when someone points out how homophobic they are.
