Lo these many moons ago, I wrote a comment (on topic) on r/LesbianActually arguing that lesbians didn't have to apologize for loving pussy and having no interest in dick. You can guess how well that went over with the mods.

Not specific to me this time and not specific to lgb or t but it relates to the general theme of deplatforming. On a video game subreddit there was some drama about a popular player saying something "insensitive" on his twitch stream. The sub can be completely obnoxious with performative indignation over minor potty mouth. Someone posted a comment of indifference and a mod popped in to threaten to ban the person for being "nonchalant". Basically they were deleting all comments if a poster didn't participate in piling onto the attempted cancellation. It was extremely reminiscent of any LGBT sub which has been taken over. I knew that they were deleting comments but the threat to ban over such an insignificant comment caught me by surprise.

Twitch is a weird beast.

People in chat can be horrifically crude, racist, misogynistic, etc etc. It's like 4chan come to life. But if a streamer dares to demonstrate one little bit of impropriety, Twitch as a platform/administration is all over them.

Given the state of Reddit, it doesn't surprise me that mods of a sub would act the same way and enforce cancel culture.

Twitch administrators are improper themselves. Plus they have power-hungry deer-person.

Funny story, I guess, but before I deleted twitter I once got suspended from it for saying "transgenderism is a mental illness". Gender dysphoria, by the way, is a mental illness. I appealed it repeatedly for something like 6 months before just deleting my account. I could never get a hold of, or anything resembling indication that, a real person read any of my replies. Since it was legally accusing me of a crime (personal threats or threat to harm) on top of that.

I was randomly banned from r/grindr with the following note, despite me never discussing anything about trans/gender:

Your post/comment history shows a history of LGBTQ-phobic content. Stop being a troll and spreading your miserable self-hatred all over Reddit.

I was banned from r/askgaymen for affirming that a post asking about gay sex with a height difference truly belonged there when an FTM - in this gay sub - went on a rant about how this wasn't a gay question because "M=F" (the 3rd party happened to identify as female but was fully male) and she told the OP to basically fuck off to r/asktrans

I was banned from r/transpassing for participating with honest feedback like "You could be a 12yo boy, or a 20yo girl"

That last tidbit reminds me of when this one transgirl got upset that every one was hug boxing her on that sub. She said she had to go to 4chan and get honest feedback about her looks. Lol

Got banned from a LGB chat for expressing that I had experienced discrimination at the hands of other (gay) men. Think I triggered a privileged guy who was going on about how great gay stereotypes are and how I should see them as a "relief from straight people" rather than something used against me. Actually experiencing discrimination bad, discrimination only gives you Minority Points if you're a privileged wanker complaining about absolutely nothing real (see: trans, rich/otherwise privileged homosexuals thinking everyone is out to get them personally, etc)

The reason was stickied and posted at the top of the page. Sorry-not-sorry that you didn't bother to read it, or the rules of this sub.

If you're upset about moderators being moderators, you can discuss it with all of us by using "message the moderators"/ModMail, or you can take it above us and go directly to SaidIt Admins.

Don't derail this thread by creating a witch-hunt against the users running this space.

Yeah, I saw the stickied post but I didn't see how it related to what was being said or how it violated the rules. And I messaged you directly but you didn't respond. Can you clarify?

    [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm a user of this site just like you are, and PMing me personally about actions from a sub isn't the appropriate way to get resolution.

We have a full mod team which acts in unison and support each other, and we can be reached using "message the moderators".

Damn, you got a conversation?! They straight-up ignore my messages!

That's a lie and you know it. You were an Approved User in our prior subreddit, and we spoke with you all the time. You just didn't like our answers.

What we DIDN'T DO was answer your bad-faith questions that had been answered time-and-time again, and we didn't disclose private information about our conversations with your partner.

    Come off your high-horse, Salty.

I'm talking about the multiple times I messaged you guys with issues only to receive no response whatsoever. "Bad faith" my ass. An honest question is an honest question. If you pick and choose which questions are deserving of an answer, then they are you a moderator? Being a moderator is not always easy. You're gonna get questions and likely, questions which you've already answered to someone else. But chances are that person isn't a psychic and doesn't know what answer you gave to a completely different person 5 months ago.

    [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

Are you talking about the numerous times you sent individual users PMs or chats instead of using "message the moderators"?

We still have access to our ModMail despite being banned, and I can see that we've answered every message you sent us there.

    [–]OPPRESSED_REPTILIANIntersex male | GNC | Don't call me "a gay", "twink" or "queen" 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

I've sent both PMs and modmails which have gone unanswered. Some of which are innocuous questions and couldnt at all be read as "bad faith."

    [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Once again, PMs and chat are NOT the appropriate way to reach moderators of a sub.

We as users are not your personal mod answering service. Leave individual users alone, and use "message the moderators" for sub concerns.

We stated that in our rules in the past sub, as well as currently in this sub.

Plus, it's just common sense. Why would you send an uninvited private message to one specific user about things related to an entire subreddit? Unless you're targeting that specific user?

So ... now that you've decided to make this your personal soapbox instead of just following the rules ...

To your claim of unanswered ModMail, the last message you sent us was 3 months ago, regarding a user targeting and spamming you both in the sub and privately. We replied, you responded, and we replied again. You responded again after that, but we didn't because it had no further bearing on moderating the sub, it was just ranting about your feelings about RadFems and/or Reddit. It had nothing to do with moderators or r/LGBDropTheT, and yes, that makes it bad faith to us. It comes across as you just trying to bait out a particular response that agrees with your worldview, and change the perception of the sub.

If you sent anything to mods after that, please do share and demonstrate how lacking we are.

Aand the other unanswered, NOT-private concerns? And no, that wasn't actually the last modmail I sent.

    [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

What are you even on about? "Unanswered, not private concerns" ... what?

Instead of this hyperbole, prove it. You made claims about moderators and this sub, provide evidence to support it.

I'll show our ModMail as defense.

    Go.

It's not worth the effort. You'll just remain hostile, come up with excuses "we didn't do X because you're bad faaaiiith" or ignore the question. I have no interest in debating with someone who can't remain civil.

Before this sub was banned on Reddit, I mentioned r/blackladies making an announcement accusing r/BlackGirlDiaries of being a transphobic sub.

We will automatically ban users of subreddits that allow rampant transphobia - https://www.reddit.com/r/blackladies/comments/hovbay/we_will_automatically_ban_users_of_subreddits/

A moderator, TheYellowRose, uses a bot called Saferbot to ban anyone who participates in subreddits that are transphobic (or any sub that she deems "rightwing" or hateful).

r/BlackGirlDiaries members have also been banned from other subs TheYellowRose moderates such as r/offmychest and subs for black women.

    https://www.reddit.com/user/TheYellowRose/

She is currently harassing the moderators of r/thepowderroom, which was created by a black woman, because a few GC members (from the banned r/gc_woc sub) are now members of thepowderroom sub. TPR mods were not members of the gc_woc sub though, so TheYellowRose is just being a powermod who wants to be in control of black women spaces on Reddit.

TheYellowRose also banned the one active mod of r/BlackWomens from r/blackladies... r/BlackWomens was created about 2 years ago after drama with the blackladies mods.

TheYellowRose is the mod for r/BlackWomen which redirects to r/blackladies.

I used to run a sub that was called r/AntiTrans

I didn't create the sub, some random GC user did who then deleted her account, leaving the sub abandoned. I found it back in 2018, requested it through r/redditrequest, and was given it.

I deleted all the content (like 3 or 4 posts), and remade the sub into an actual purpose.

I made it into a resource to find other subreddits. It didn't matter if the person was critical of gender, RadFem, open to debate, wanted to be combative assholes to anyone, or even trans and stumbled in by mistake and wanted supportive subs. I answered it all. If you came into r/AntiTrans for any reason, I let you know somewhere else to go.

I locked the sub, and had 2 stickies that people could comment on. One sticky was the general purpose of the sub and suggestions, and the other sticky was Q&A.

One of my Q&As was "which subreddits will I be banned from for stating I am critical of gender?"

That question was the most frequently updated, and grew longer and longer as time went on. Unfortunately, I didn't archive the sub at any point because the purpose became impractical as time went on. Basically every large sub will ban users for "transphobia", and I had so many on the list already, I just couldn't keep up.

r/AntiTrans was banned the same day our sub here was.

I'm telling you this because r/blackladies, among many many MANY OTHERS, was on the list since the beginning. They have long-since been banning users for not bending the knee to gender ideology ... regardless of whether the dissent occurs in their sub or elsewhere.

They are not the first, nor the last, to use bots to do so. It violates Reddit rules for moderators, but Admins have always looked the other way and ignored direct questions about the practice.

I was banned from few non-related to any politics subreddits (art collection, few game ones, etc) next day after posting on /r/GenderCriticalGuys my first post.

Banned from dropthetransphobes. I did ask the mods why but they mentioned they were banning too many people to give each one a specific reason. Probably the most honest response I've gotten from a mod about a subreddit ban tbh
