I hardly think that only one issue can be separated out and held up as "the important issue" here. There are lots of issues involved in the Christian Chandler saga, and in the particular case of Chandler (allegedly) raping his mother. A number of very worrying trends have arisen from the fact that many men like Chandler today never move out of their childhood homes - and a growing number who did move out are returning to live with their divorced or widowed mums after life outside didn't work out so well, as in the case of the cyclepath Ragehell McKinnon/Ronnie Ivy.

One consequence is that there's been an uptick in the number of older women - many of whom have serious health problems and/or disabilities - being psychologically, physically and financially abused as well as murdered by their live-in adult sons. Many older women today are trapped in their own homes utterly terrorized by the big angry blokes they gave birth to decades ago.

The fact that many of these guys living with their vulnerable mums have sexual fetishes that cause them to fantasize about being women and to LARP about pretending they are women and demanding that the mums and the world recognize them as women only adds to the sons' insanity and bad behavior. Which creates more instability and danger for the mums - and any other women the sons might have contact with. Seems Norman Bates-type blokes are no longer the teensy-tiny minority they once were.
