The sad thing is that is not new, if anything we're just in the end stages. All dissenting opinions get pushed aside. These are hierarchical institutions in that you do not advance without the blessing of someone higher up, and the gate-keeping involved is not simply about objectively assessing competence and never has. We know this from how women have historically been shut out of things for so very long, and how so many ideas like continental drift (which became plate tectonics) was laughed at for a long time, and how Alton Harp would get shut out of telescope time because his ideas about red-shift (and star formation to be fair) were not everyone else's. The data he collected was just as good and useful as anyone else's but the anomalies he found are still jut ignored.

Academia is big business, from the marketing done by admissions departments, to the begging and for funding from industry and even alumni. None of that money comes without stipulations. It is not surprising that a system can be 'gamed', and those that are good at it will game a system be it facebook, academia, or the abomination that would result from the mating of he two.

The purpose of the trans cult, which if those running it have their way can not last beyond a single generation, is to sort out who will accept lies to get along and who will not. Those who do not accept the lies are of no use to those with all the funds.
