Yeah screw you Ellen, traitor! Better not catch you playing anymore women you hypocrite. Get famous for playing a preggo teen and you rape a man on film. Should have known you were a trans from the start.

I fear for Umbrella Academy. Will Vanya be credited as being played by "Elliot?" Will Vanya miraculously become Vincent? The only reasonable thing is to just drop the character from the show, which, since it follows a comic, the scriptwriters can't really do. It's all bullshit.

The now deadnamed Ellen Page has at least 2-3 look a likes, they can just give the role to one of them.

Elliot looks like Bieber, another Canadian. Easy to replace.

TBH, I didn't even finish season 2. I binged season 1, but 2 was exactly the same story redone, but worse.

A man played a pregnant woman in an anti-abortion movie. Go figure.

When I first read it I was disappointed, but the more I thought about it, the angrier I am. I feel like Ellen backstabbed and used the lesbian community. I need someone to ask her if she lied about being a lesbian. How can she come out that emotionally, with that much detail about her life and how it made her feel then take it all back? She just went back into the closet as far as I'm concerned, and I won't forgive her for it. She's not brave. These women are brave.

Imo she was out for what a few years? I know it had an impact but gosh, she just went back in the closet with this one is right!

Yeah it truly is a sad day for the lesbians who looked up to her and I feel so bad for them. It's like GNC Centric said in one of her livestreams on YouTube about how young lesbians have next to no role models to look up to when so many of them are transing out left and right.

It's interesting because a friend shared a story on FB recently with a headline about EP receiving "transphobic hate" on Twitter. Now I know some women have definitely said things that could be construed as transphobic but the example they gave was literally someone saying "Well I guess I'm glad they're happy but I feel so sad that we've lost another lesbian". How tf is that transphobic?

I don't think EP owes it to lesbiankind to maintain a female identity if this really matters to her. But expressing sadness about her not being a lesbian any more isn't transphobic or hateful. Nobody ever said people are full of homophobic hate if they express disappointment that a star who comes out is now "off the market" for their fantasies.

I wonder if it would be advantageous for a short woman (who may be hitting the upper limit of the "desireable" actress age range) to be passable as a young boy, for her acting career.

I highly doubt it but I am curious if it will have an effect on the producing/directing she's been heading towards.

nah, b/c the "wife"(if that word is even allowed anymore) is, in her own words "fluid as can be". These people are all nuttier than a fruitcake.

Her wife is likely having her own mental health crises because of this but Ellen is too consumed to care. It doesn’t help that her wife was IMMEDIATELY attacked by genderists, with flaming torches (of words). It’s like they expect you to stay with someone after they come out as trans, sacrifice your own identity, mental health, money, soul and then you aren’t allowed to leave and if you want to they want to force you to stay. I’m not saying her wife is there yet or even ever will be, but this is how they treat partners trans people inside their cult like peaks. The partner is always expected to metaphorically cut out their own heart and take whatever the trans one wants them to have, because only one person in the relationship matters to the TRA mob. That is really ultimately why I think a lot of partners of trans identified weirdos eventually come out as trans too- 1) social contagion, and 2) being told they will only matter if they’re trans too. In some ways the TRA patriarchal cult is more patriarchal than what is appropriate in some normal society right now (location pending).

And every guy who ever thought she was cute is now totally gay. Ellen Page single handedly created millions of gay men.

When I saw the name Ellen when all this news came out I thought of Ellen Degeneres so I was very confused for a moment lol. I wanted to see if anything changed with The Umbrella Academy so I looked up its IMDb page. They've already changed Page's name to Elliot with they/them pronouns in her bio but according to Netflix, Elliot will still play as Vanya Hargreeves.

I really liked the first season of Umbrella Academy and read the comics beforehand, so I guess I'm glad they're not going to change Vanya's character to "Vincent?" Not because I don't like that they now identify as trans, but it wouldn't make sense at all in the story for there to be a transgender arc for Vanya. If it really bothers people maybe they'll end up replacing Page?

Either way, her coming out as "Elliot" and trans feels like it could be interpreted in one of two ways; "Anything but a woman," so I'm going to transition to "fix" that. OR, realize it's okay to not be comfortable as a woman but understand it doesn't mean you might actually be trans. I know there's so much more to it than that, but does that make sense how it could be seen that way?
