That one just depresses me. Also they get really angry when you show research that 90% of the women in the sex industry want out, and illegal brothels still exist in Nevada, Germany and the Netherlands where it is legal. I have relatives in Vegas as well, and have known some strippers, most are on drugs and are not "amazing and empowered women in control of their sexuality"

As I said in the topic about that song "W.A.P." - "empowering" and "in control of her sexuality" they would be only if it was a woman who had money and was throwing them away on multiple men, who were trying to get in her bed and were trying to please her to get chosen, and then to please her in bed, and she was using them as disposables, and those men were stripping and dancing for her and do all the kinks she wanted - but they don't wanted (like lets say making two straight men to have sex with each other or to kiss each other to look "more sexy" to her, or during sex take strapon and start doing them in ass while they did not wanted to). Something like "I will gift you a car and you will be my man-b*tch". Then we could talk that it can be empowering woman's sexuality, not always it would, but it could be.

While "being paid to perform" or "being paid big money to have sex with them" is not empowering and not in control of sexuality.

Right! And it also kind of sends across the message that male singers get to be Queen, Jimi Hindrix,Bob Dylan, Elton John and other singers that actually have meaningful lyrics, while women singers get to sing about how hot they are. I kind of only listen to classic rock, but I am sure modern male singers don't sing about how hot they are.

modern male singers don't sing about how hot they are.

Depends if you can call rappers - singers. They are often singing how rich, badass and sexy they are, however not in objectifying way like in "W.A.P.". And if you compare lyrics, rappers singing that they are hot and rich - so now they can afford any woman, while in "W.A.P." she sings that she is hot and rich, so men need to pay a lot to afford her. In both cases object is woman and the one who in control ("affording") is a man.

yep...the men get to actually BE powerful. I will also compare two white singers Ariana Grande and Megan Traynor. One had a song about how it is empowering buying shit and the other finds it empowering being robust and desirable to men. Honestly, it depresses me that music in general comes across as it is awesome being materialistic and shallow! I miss classic rock so much. Sure they had songs about sex and money, but they were no where NEAR as hallow.
