In every hierarchy, as a matter of survival, the under-group has to study the dominant group, learn its signals, try to figure out its motivations, try to figure out how individual outliers are likely to be wired, etc.

Over hundreds of generations in hundreds of cultures women have studied men to learn what they can about men's motivations, preferences, needs, desires, fantasies, and generally what makes men tick. While most straight men care about how to get women (or one particular woman) into their bed or into a more formal relationship, since moving out of their mothers' houses most of them have never had any need or motivation to develop any deeper understanding of the female half of the human race. Women, after all, until the very recent past, had little expectation of life as independent economic or social actors - they were destined to live out their whole lives defined as daughters, wives, and mothers. So it was absolutely vital that they be canny enough about men to protect themselves. As I said, this has been a matter of survival for them.

As a result of this dynamic I think it is safe to say that as groups, recognizing that there will always be some outliers, women know more about men than men know about women.

What's more, since men have always been on the top of heap, men have never had much reason to question, doubt and analyze themselves the way women customarily and constantly do as when we wonder what did we do to bring on all the disrespect, objectification and abuse that's heaped on us our whole lives.

Most men are very good at self-exaltation, self-aggrandizement and blaming women for all their issues and problems. At self-examination, self-awareness and holding themselves to account, not so much. As your posts on this thread show.
