The concept of money has changed over time in different cultures and is still changing - it is turning into electronic money instead of paper money these days, for instance. If society wants to change social constructs, then we can change them - it may not be easy, but, all the same, it is not impossible. But that's irrelevant when we're talking about physical realities.

I don't think a pro-trans person would think they are "erasing" the concept of woman - they would be interpreting it differently or expanding it.

With money this is true because humans created money. It's not always easy because our definitions are ingrained and widespread and usually the concepts shift naturally, not according to our preferences, but, all the same we can do things like erase student loan debt with a vote because money was just an agreement to start with. While we can change with a vote who gets to use which bathrooms or play on what team, it won't affect the reality and that's what matters.

Saying "so what if it's a social construct" is missing the real point to me. There is that one confusion: some things can be changed by agreement (though they may be tough to change - like gender roles, or class divisions) and some things are physical realities.

Maybe we can change genders roles (great!) but that will still not change the real physical distinctions which have real consequences in real places like changing rooms, sports teams, prisons and so on.
