We are LGBTQutus of Borg. Prepare to be assimilated. Your uniqueness will be added to our collective. Resistance is futile.

Brilliant. If I could draw, I'd create concept art for this.

You're under arrest for homicide because I died from laughing at this.

Was thinking this exact thing the other day. Not for the first time. Also: I love Voyager. Captain Janeway is an old lesbian crush of mine from my teenage years.

I mean you're kind of wrong here. They may share the element of desire to "assimilate", but it's not strictly about being lesser like the Borg are.

Basically any culture with a pattern of intolerance is guilty of this. Evangelical Christians. Social Conservatives that think gays are out to molest your kids. Communists and Tankies. I'd say they're all equally guilty.

But I wouldn't say they're like the Borg. The Borg goes beyond just social compliance.

I've thought about this a lot and I think a more apt comparison would be to the Cardassians at least as far as their judicial system goes. The ruling of every criminal trial is a guilty verdict with the purpose of the proceedings being not justice, but bringing the offender to recognise the power of the State. Dukat once told Sisko that Cardassians love watching justice triumph over "evil" when Miles was on trial on Cardassia. It seems like TRAs are keen to give more and more power to the State over private citizens to ensure their opinions and expressions of self are within their predetermined guidelines and punish those who don't. That's on top of the social costs of being "cancelled" for having the majority opinion.

Star Trek was always kind of on the weird side, though, wasn’t it?
