Why didn’t they just not come to our sub if they didn’t like the content?? No doubt they are coming here also just to get upset.

The number of subscribers to gendercritical was getting so high it was damaging the illusion that everyone agreed with the TRAs, and that we were just a minority of rabid b******.

We had to go.

And after JKR spoke out, many people who weren't involved in this debate before were finding GC and related subs. Reddit couldn't possibly have that.

True. I notice subs that only make fun of trans people are still up, while the ones that were critical of trans ideology were banned, which tells me it's only about trying to control the conversation.

I mean that was the entire premise of Reddit as a platform. You can subscribe or not subscribe to any sub you like, so you choose the content you see. And while you can't control what other people post in a sub you subscribe to, you always have the choice to ignore things you don't like or not to engage.
