This is my main problem with masks. The majority of people going out and about to the shops aren't at any serious risk of covid-19. It's a whole lot of waste just to make healthy but anxious people feel better. Let's not pretend it's the at risk groups pushing for others to wear masks, it's the worried well.

There is some medical evidence that many people with mild or asymptomatic disease have permanent subclinical lung damage. Countries with widespread infection may face a large future health burden.

Plus if you look at the original SARS patients lots of them ended up with CFS, headaches, dysatonomia etc. YEARS later.

There is literally NO medical evidence that this novel disease which as far as anyone knows emerged in around October causes "permanent" lung damage.

Mild cases CANNOT even cause lung damage since mild cases do not get into or damage the lungs - if they do, they are not mild. It is normal after any and all respiratory infections which become severe for some people to have lasting damage, which typically resolve over time.

Masks are here to prevent people who are not at risk to spread the virus to those who are at risk...

And FYI, those who don't die can lose the majority of their pulmonary function. That includes younger people.

I can’t believe we’re still having this conversation. Most people are asymptomatic. Healthy people become carriers and spread it to other healthy and at risk people. The more you can block transmission, the fewer at risk people will catch it.

There is no evidence of asymptomatic spread.
