The vast majority of such fake news articles fail give the complete picture by not revealing how many of the missing children just absconded of their own accord and show back up in the next few days and how many were taken by an estranged parent because that would reveal there is a very small number were really missing because something untoward happened to them.

Yep, trafficking happens but it's not all that go missing.

Also why take a child out of care when you can just pick them up when you need them. This is what's happening to the kids who go missing hundreds of times a year.

I fell for that claim too, then I realized that of course they will document the missing children as run aways. Some are, but those who do not show up in a day or two are absolutely being trafficked and everyone knows it, yet they use the excuse of "run away" to look the other way. Cops also document murders as suicides when they don't want to investigate.

The fact that they don't keep separate statistics for children who have been taken by a parent also shows they intentionally want to hide the extent of the child sex trafficking problem by mixing different statistics together then insinuating it is mostly the one that doesn't upset people.

Yes those articles never tell how many of those ten thousand kids never showed back up so everyone just assumes large numbers are being trafficked. Lots of the teenage kids run away from care homes. Often because they meet boyfriends or girlfriends outside the care system. You get teenage girls in care meet older boys with cars and apartments and they don't want to go back to the care home so they run away. That happens all the time. I'm sure that is how some of them end up belonging to the grooming gangs they talk about but not all.

This isn't completely accurate, the UK government did not admit to 'selling' any children. A lot of kids went missing, there is an issue here, but the headline is wildly misleading and completely unsubstantiated

Republicans usually insert a lot of disinformation. Liberal fact checkers then point out how this is disinformation and then pat themselves on the back.

Regular ppl then dismiss any true parts of Republican inserted conspiracy theories because there's so much disinformation they just dismiss it all. Readers of conservative outlets tend to believe everything because they've seen a chunk of real evidence.
